A week in the life of a Catapult Sports Scientist
To all our clients and prospects, thank you for having us. Helping you guys out via Zoom these last two years wasn’t easy for both parties and happy to finally make it out. Sports Science is alive out here and I couldn’t be happier to see the hunger for knowledge in this part of the world. As a Southeast Asian, I’m proud to see this and hopefully next time… there will be more women in the room 😉🧡🙏🏽
Bolehhhh bolehhh!!!

Working as a sports scientist for two diverse regions (South East Asia & South Asia) and 15 countries has not been easy. Each country has its own culture, language and coaching styles which makes it challenging but also rewarding. My favorite part about it is being able to educate the coaches on how technology can help their team and empowering them to use it effectively to optimize their team performance. Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way!

This one is for my “I wanna get fit and all but I don’t wanna gain muscle” girl gang.
🤓 women are actually prone to lose muscle at a faster rate as they age… so gaining muscle isn’t so bad plus, for most of us it’s really tough to gain muscle because most of our hormones are working against muscle growth

Basically my excuse for how inactive I’ve been out here…

I’m back party people!!
I haven’t been able to post on Instagram for a while now because I’ve been busy with my full-time job but going to start making this more of a priority. I know I used to only post about strength & conditioning out here but decided to involve more of the things I learn on a daily basis about the field of sports science. Definitely love working for the top sports science company in the world with the best professional teams out there as their sports scientist in charge of the South East Asia, South Asia and India region. Would love to share what I learn with you along with the S&C content that I typically post.

Aaaand we’re back at it! From my previous posts, I’ve highlighted research that was done showing the strength gains and benefits of working out during the early phases of the menstrual cycle. However, this phase is also when inflammation spikes due to the drop in estrogen/progesterone. Therefore, while it’s great to capitalize on the strength gains... we shouldn’t neglect recovery. We should actually put more emphasis on it during this phase.
Check out glute activation and hip mobility examples on my old posts!
Thanks to efforts by Dr. Georgie Bruinvels, Dr. Stacy Sims and Dr. Wikström-Frisén on their research also for paving the way for this to get more attention. Don’t forget to checkout apps such as and to help track, because while these are the best practices... everyone is different! @ Manila, Philippines
