Rewire your thoughts, as your thoughts will shape your own reality.

When you struggle with anxiety, there are constant "what ifs..." There are constant worrying thoughts about all of the awful things that could happen. And so flipping that around, and asking ourselves, "what are the good things that could happen?" is so important to do. Anxiety will always focus on the bad things, the worst-case scenarios.

But this is not an accurate representation of reality. Most of the time those awful scenarios you have thought of will not happen.

In order to challenge yourself what is the best thing that could happen? What if this goes to plan? What if I actually prove anxiety wrong? Because when you do challenge anxiety, you prove to yourself that things are nowhere near as bad as you imagined. You prove to yourself that you are strong, capable, and able to deal with your unfounded weary thoughts that caused the anxiety.

Start your day with 45 minutes of easy movement to get your body feeling right to embrace the new day. Beginning each day with an intention elevates your daily asana practice into something that becomes more meaningful and purposeful to you. As we move through the postures, it opens up the body and prepares the mind for a seated practice, allowing you to move seamlessly into your own meditation practice. The postures in this sequence are simple enough for a beginner to follow, and provides room for regular practitioners to modify or add their own variations for a little more challenge in some of the postures. Props are always optional.

~Beat The Desk Slump ~
With the WFH order, the work week easily crosses over into the weekend and we might find ourselves working longer hours than before. If it’s midday and you have been seated down working for some time, here’s a quick 30-minute break that you can take right at your desk. Clear some space around you and grab some props so you can stay fresh and attentive to complete those last few tasks for the day. The postures in this sequence are simple enough for anyone to follow, showing you that yoga can be done anytime and anywhere. Other than your chair on a mat, props such as blocks, straps, bolster and a wall are used here.

~Evening Wind Down~
After a whole day of mental work and focusing our energy on external matters, this 45-minute gentle yin yang practice is a perfect day to end the day. The yin aspect of it allows us to slow down and check in with ourselves, while the yang movements gives us an avenue to release physical tension in our bodies. Think of this as your daily mental or metaphysical shower. Just as we need to cleanse the body daily, we need to cleanse our mental and physical states too. Beginner-friendly static holds and gentle movements can be supported with props such as bolster, yoga blocks and a strap.
