I'm not the most experienced hiker but I'm that aunty who bring along a bunch of stuff just in case, even when there are guides. If you're a frequent hiker, please add your suggestions too. Stay safe on the trails so that you can enjoy this hobby for a long long time to come!
Are you usually well prepped when going outdoors?

This hike up to the peak of Batu Punggul was really short (approx 2.5hrs total) with 200+m elevation gain. The bigger challenge is really overcoming the mental barrier when you look at how small some of the footholds are, and also keeping yourself cool from the blazing sun. There are some ropes along the way and some slightly wider areas but It's still mostly narrow climbing pathways.
I wish I could stay longer on the trail itself coz there was so much to see but it started getting dark. If you ever go, keep the place clean! I didn't see any trash except for 1 cigarette butt which I picked up so always take out what you bring in.
We debated a lot on whether going up or going down was easier 😂 Which do you think feels easier?

Thanks for being part of this yoga outing! Whether you came alone or with a friend, I hope you've managed to get a little break in, and perhaps learnt something new from the farm ☺️
Should we do another session?

Just sharing this little hike over the long weekend. It's actually a paid tour that runs through Kebun Che Mah, a privately owned piece of land and also the starting point of the trail to Bukit Pau (now closed due to ECRL and TNB projects). Very short 'hike' but also pretty fascinating to learn about how things came about.
I remember seeing these crystals on Bukit Tabur back then, but have never really slowed down to appreciate their beauty up close. Hmm younger hikers probably haven't heard of Bukit Tabur and all the lives that were lost there.
Have you hiked Bukit Tabur?
Ranting Falls at Taiping. We took 5hrs total but it was at a slow pace to look at random stuff along the way. Also just laid on rocks at the waterfall for half an hour hehe. Total distance of the hike is arnd 8.5km, EG 418m but some parts of the trail quite rugged. Contact if you like to nerd out on plants during your hike!
Which is the best feeling after a long hike?
