Rathnaanjali was a joyful celebration of legacy, one of many this year for TKI’s 60th anniversary.
Here’s the view from backstage!
💎*RATHNAANJALI: The Diamond Legacy of Dance*💎
For *60 years*… a flame was lit.
Passed from Guru… to student… to generations.
Across time, this legacy has grown into five generations of dancers —
a living lineage of devotion, discipline, and artistry.
That flame now returns to one sacred stage…
through the direct descendants of this lineage, and the students they now nurture.
What you will witness is not just performance —
but the continuation of a sacred _Parampara_,
where each generation becomes both student and Guru.
Every step carries memory.
Every movement carries legacy.
Every dancer carries a story that began long before them.

Tanjai Kamalaa Indira Dance School, the pioneers of Bharatanatyam in Malaysia, celebrated the launch of their official 60th Anniversary logo on 14 March 2026 at our alma mater, marking the beginning of their Diamond Jubilee celebration.
The school was inaugurated in 1966 by sisters Mrs. Indira Manikam and Mrs. Kamalaa Ramachandran which has since then grown into a nourishing platform teaching the Tanjavur style of bharathantyam to over 1000’s of students all over Malaysia.
Our Chief Guest of Honour, Datuk Sahadevan, Managing Director of NLFCS launched the event and a snippet of the school’s newest dance drama production, “Krishnayanam - From Birth to Beyond” was presented by our students. This dance drama is exclusively staged for the 60th anniversary celebration.
To commemorate this momentous year, the school has also scheduled a series of programs and productions. Stay tuned to our page for updates on the upcoming events.
