✨ Unlocking Opportunities in Islamic Finance at Labuan IBFC ✨

ASAS recently hosted an insightful session on the Islamic finance ecosystem within, bringing together ASAS members and industry practitioners for meaningful discussions on the evolving landscape of Shariah-compliant finance.

The programme featured valuable presentations on Labuan IBFC’s strategic role as Asia’s premier international financial hub, as well as emerging opportunities in Islamic digital finance, captive takaful, and cross-border wealth management through the Islamic Digital Asset Centre (IDAC).

Shariah Committee to Board of Directors Readiness Program 2026

The Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS) successfully organised the Shariah Committee Succession Plan Initiative (SCSPI) Tier 3 programme, namely the Shariah Committee to Board of Directors Readiness Program 2026 – Module 1: Corporate Governance Essentials, on 5 May 2026.

The programme gathered participants from across the Islamic finance industry to enhance their understanding of the key roles, responsibilities, and legal obligations of a Board of Directors. Through engaging discussions and practical case studies, participants were exposed to essential board governance practices and valuable perspectives on effective leadership. The panel session also offered meaningful insights from experienced industry practitioners, particularly on the transition from serving on a Shariah Committee to taking on broader responsibilities at the board level.

ASAS extends its sincere appreciation to all speakers, panelists, and participants for their active participation and valuable contributions in making the programme a success. We hope the knowledge and insights shared throughout the session will continue to contribute towards strengthening governance practices and nurturing future leaders within the Islamic finance industry.
