Shamala Kandiah Bharatha Kala Alayam (Shamala Dance Academy) is a well established Bharata Natyam dance school since 1987.
It's founder, Natya Sironmani Guru Shrimathi Shamala Segar has cultivated and produced some of the most watchable young talents both from Malaysia and India, winning awards and accolades for their polished performances. Currently, we conduct bharatanatyam classes in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

Here is our humble salutation to the Divine Mother Durga 🙏🏽 on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dasami yesterday.
Though this was just a short impromptu attempt, and we felt truly honoured to dance alongside with our beloved Guru Natyanjali Sironmani Shrimathi Shamala Segar, after getting her blessing on this special day. She groomed and nurtured us from being her little students into polished dancers and a guru ourselves today. It was truly a moment to live in for us!
