I was fortunate to start my Taekwondo (TKD) journey in 1970, before a WTF, KukKiWon or WT ever existed. Over the years I have met many GMs, some not worth the paper of their ranks; some were (and still are) arrogant, ignorant, racist, and generally a shoe-in for a role in a Despicable Me movie.
Others (in TKD) were truly a blessing and an honour to know and even learn from. My first primary instructor was GM NAM TaeHee. My current primary instructor since 1984 is GM PARK HaeMan. Other senior exemplary notables include GMs KIM YongHo, LEE ChongWoo, AN JaeYoon, HWANG InSik, KIM MuNok, MUN HuiSong, KWON HyungNam, OOI HockLai, and several others.
My primary lineage is TKD Chungdokwan (CDK); this will never change. Over the years I have been exposed to some of the other great or senior Kwans. One Kwan that has been open, sincere and active in promoting TKD and Korea above all for the common good has been Changmookwan (CMK). After several extended discussions since 2018 with some of their most trusted and proven representatives, I have humbly accepted their most gracious invitation to be a part of their fraternity to work together to research, develop and promote TKD globally. I would like to extend my personal thanks of gratitude to the warmth and welcome shown to me by MSTs KIM DaeHyun and Iskandar YOEH.
I have not been asked to leave CDK; GM KIM JoongYoung has the highest regard and respect for CDK and my master, PARK HaeMan. I am excited in looking forward to work together in continuing to promote authentic TKD (physical, mental, cultural and values) to those who appreciate and love it.

Congratulation to GM HWANG Young Jin was duly elected as the new President of the Korea Kido Association or Daehan KiDo Hwe (DKH) on 20th March 2021. The DKH is the world's oldest Korean Martial Art Association. GM Hwang is also the President of both the KukMuWon and the World Culutral Exchange Foundation. GM Hwang is shown on the right wearing black with red lapel.
