On 25 May 2023, Methodist Boys' School Kuala Lumpur (MBSS KL) made a decision that would shape the future of its cricket programme. A talented and cricket-obsessed 14-year-old boy joined the school through the vision and efforts of Mr. Gopal, Dr. Ramesh, and Mr. Ravi, with the blessing and support of Mr. John Toh.
At that time, few could have imagined the remarkable journey that lay ahead.
Over the next few years, Tristan Aashish developed into one of the finest young cricketers in the country. He proudly represented Malaysia and wore the Kuala Lumpur colours at various age-group and state levels. More importantly, he became the heartbeat of MBSS KL Cricket.
Today, Tristan serves as the Captain of the MBSS KL Cricket Team and is affectionately known as "Mr. MBSS"—a title earned through his unwavering commitment, loyalty, and dedication to the school. Cricket at MBSS KL is not just something he plays; it is something he has helped build.
Together with Mr. Ravi, Tristan has played a pivotal role in transforming the school's cricket programme. Their shared vision, hard work, and determination have elevated MBSS KL to greater heights. Today, the school proudly boasts its own cricket training facilities, including dedicated cricket nets, bowling machines, and modern training equipment—resources that will continue to benefit generations of cricketers to come.
A captain is measured not only by the runs he scores or the wickets he takes, but by the character, discipline, and belief he instils in those around him. Tristan embodies these qualities every single day.
He leads by example, earning the respect of teammates, coaches, and opponents alike through his relentless work ethic, humility, and composure under pressure. Whether making tactical decisions on the field, encouraging a struggling teammate, or setting the standard during training, Tristan consistently demonstrates maturity beyond his years.
