Russell, Randell and Cindy hold dance qualifications from the renowned UK based dance examining bodies, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) for Modern Ballroom & Latin American and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) for Classical Ballet, after training by their dance mentors ISTD Fellow Mr John Chong Nyuk Chin and RAD registered Ballet Teacher and RAD Ballet Examiner Ms Chan Lay Na. Russell, Randell and Cindy rank among the top young dancers in Sarawak, Malaysia who are competitively experienced since 2006 and are competent and qualified in all ten dances of both Standard/Modern Ballroom (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep) & Latin/Latin American (Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Dobley, Jive) categories and who are also well trained in Classical Ballet. The trio started dancing in 2004 with Mr Victor Lim and since then they had attended many dance courses and workshops and competed in numerous DanceSport competitions at Malaysia national and World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) international levels for more than 10 years. They had travelled around Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Korea, Australia and UK for the various dance courses, competitions and performances. Russell And Randell Dance Company is a member of Sarawak DanceSport Association and promotes various dance genres that include Modern Ballroom (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot & Quickstep), Latin American (Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive & Paso Doble), Boogie Woogie, Rock & Roll, Line Dance, Classical Ballet and Contemporary. Before the competition, they attended the pre-competition workshops led by world-class athletes: Guillem Pascual & Diandra Aniela Illes, Alexey Glukhov, Malthe Brinch Rohde & Sandra Sorensen, as well as Kirill Pavlov & Kristina Shinkariuk. They learned so much from every session and gained valuable experience beyond the competition floor.
The competition wrapped up beautifully, and regardless of whether our girls made it into the finals or semifinals, our hearts were full watching them step onto the floor and give their very best. ๐ซถ๐ป๐
