A special thank you to D’Stranger for arranging this dinner and bringing everyone together beyond the basketball court — a chance for our players, the owners and committee members to sit down, connect, and get to know one another better.
We looked back on the games we’ve shared and, more importantly, talked about what’s ahead — the upcoming tournaments, future plans, and opportunities for both sides to continue working together.
Basketball brought us together.
Partnership brings us closer.
Thank you, D’Stranger, for the continued support and trust in Flycats. We look forward to moving forward together and creating many more memorable moments along the way. 🩷
More to come. The journey continues. 🏀🤝

WE STARTED SOMETHING.
FLYCATS.
The first 365 days are written.
The rest of the story is still ours to create.
Happy 1st Anniversary, Flycats. 🐱🩷

Does Kuching Women’s Basketball Need a Stronger Youth Development System?
Over the years, it seems that fewer and fewer women’s basketball teams are stepping onto the court.
It’s not that young girls don’t love basketball.
Many of them start playing, but not everyone stays on the journey for long.
The demanding training, the losses, the pressure of competition, the challenges that come with growth…
When passion meets reality, how many are able to keep going?
It makes us wonder—
Are we really lacking girls who love basketball?
Or are we lacking an environment where they can grow, persevere, and continue to love the game?
If young players continue to walk away,
if women’s teams continue to disappear,
then five years from now, ten years from now…
What will women’s basketball in Kuching—and even Sarawak—look like?
After the generation currently competing on the court,
Where is the next generation?
We don’t have the answer.
But perhaps, this is a question worth discussing together.
Does Kuching women’s basketball need a stronger youth development system?
Who will carry it forward?
