On this day, 1st August 2025, we commemorate 60 years of silent service and unparalleled excellence by Rejimen Gerak Khas — Malaysia’s first and oldest special forces unit, established on 1st August 1965.

Bearing the motto “Cepat dan Cergas” (Swift and Agile), this elite formation comprises three sabre regiments, trained and tasked to conduct the full spectrum of special operations, including:

Conducted in the vicinity of Desaru, this exercise aims to enhance interoperability and operational competencies within the dynamic Joint Special Forces environment, specifically focused on Counter-Terrorism Operations as outlined in MKN No. 18 and the Defense White Paper.

In the midst of a volatile, uncertain, and complex regional security landscape, it is imperative that Special Forces units maintain the highest level of readiness at all times.

It is boldness—anchored in relentless training, unwavering trust, and indomitable will—that transforms the impossible into the achievable.
