The butterfly stroke officially became an Olympic event on this day in 1956. CSC is proud to have had a pioneer in that historic race – our very own Oly Fong Siew Hor in the 200M Fly (H3L7).

A historic day for swimming: Melbourne 1956 marked the Olympic debut of the 🦋butterfly stroke. William Yorzyk claimed the first-ever 200m fly gold in 2:19.3, setting a landmark moment that shaped the future of competitive swimming.

In Loving Memory of a Pillar of Our Club 🕊️
It is with deep respect and affection that we remember our beloved past President, Mr. Khoo Soo Hay (1936 - 2025).
Mr. Khoo's dedicated leadership shaped the very foundation of our club, serving as:
• CSC President (1998-2002, 2005-2006)
• Past President of CSC Properties
He was a leader who served with immense passion and vision, transitioning CSC to this millennium, and, shaping the club that we all know and love today. His legacy is in the water we swim in and the community we cherish.
Mr Khoo will forever be a part of our CSC story. He will be profoundly missed by his entire CSC family.
