Some days it’s the games. Some days it’s the drills.
And some days it’s just spending a few good hours with people you enjoy being around. That’s always been our favourite part of pickleball.
Not the scores. Not the rankings. Not even the wins. Just the conversations between games, the laughs after a ridiculous rally, and the people who keep showing up week after week.
See you on the courts

Not every session needs to be your best session. Some days you’re drilling. Some days you’re competing. Some days you’re just here to hit a few balls, catch up with friends, and enjoy being on court.
That’s the thing we love most about pickleball. The score matters for a few minutes. The people tend to stay a little longer. If you’ve found your way onto our courts before, you probably know exactly what we mean.

Most beginners lose points in pickleball before the rally even starts.
Not because of power. Not because of speed. But because they don’t understand the kitchen. The kitchen, or non-volley zone, exists to slow the game down.
It forces players to be patient. To control the ball instead of smashing everything.
And ironically, the players who learn to stay calm at the kitchen line usually end up controlling the entire rally.
So if you’re always backing away from the kitchen, you’re probably giving away the advantage.
In pickleball, getting comfortable at the kitchen line changes everything.

Not every kid starts confident. Not every kid starts coordinated. But give them the right space… and you start to see it change. A little more movement. A little more courage. A little more belief in themselves.
Our Kids Group isn’t just about learning pickleball, it’s about building a foundation they carry beyond the court. Confidence. Teamwork. And the simple joy of showing up and trying again. And somewhere in between the drills and the laughs… they start to grow.
We run kids group coaching sessions here at Picks & Rec. If you’re looking to get your child started, just drop us a DM to enquire.

Some collaborations just make sense.
Recently, we had the team from ANESSA take over the courts at Picks & Rec for a day of movement, community, and a little bit of sweat under the KL heat ☀️🏓
From rallies on court to conversations off it, it was nice seeing skincare, sport, and people come together in a space built for exactly that.
A reminder that pickleball isn’t just competition. Sometimes it’s just good energy, good people, and a reason to spend the day outside.

People always ask what kind of crowd plays at Picks & Rec. Honestly? All of them.
Families who came for one session and now have a standing weekly booking. Friend groups who treat Tuesday nights like a ritual they’d reschedule other things for. Corporate teams who arrived for team-building and left as pickleball converts. Regulars who’ve been here long enough that we know their order before they reach the counter.
Different levels. Different ages. One thing in common — they keep coming back. That’s not a coincidence. A space that welcomes everyone plays differently from one that doesn’t. The community here is the proof of that.
If you haven’t found your session yet, it’s waiting for you.

Our Women’s Doubles Novice team just stepped onto the podium at WPC — and if you’ve ever played, you know how much that actually takes.
Early mornings. Missed shots. Learning to trust your partner. Figuring it out point by point.
This isn’t just about a medal — it’s about showing up, sticking with it, and realizing you’re a lot better than you thought you were.
And honestly, we’re just getting started.
