Pesta Renang MBPJ Ke-15

1st November 2025

Kompleks Renang Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya

This is the 15th edition of the Pesta Renang MBPJ that stretches back to the early 2000s. It has been a very wonderful and very fruitful partnership between and Stingray Swimming Club.

A record 474 participants turned up to make this year's edition a great success. Technical officials from Selangor raised up the level of officiating. We did see a bit more DQs this time, but it is a necessary learning process for the swimmers themselves as they prepare themselves for future competitions.

The Pesta Renang MBPJ has always been a family oriented event. Kicking events cater to the very young, adults & family relays cater to the more senior. Previous SSC swimmers have now become coaches themselves and have brought their own students on the route to competitive swimming. A notable mention would be the Yeo family relay team which saw senior Yeo at 75yo, swimming fast and hard for his team.

It is a great honour for MBPJ & SSC to have YB launch the Pesta. To YB we sincerely hope you can join us next year. Much heart to all the Ahli Majlis MBPJ who turned up to support, to MBPJ's own support staff who worked with us to set everything up, to & , to the vendors who set up their stalls to provide food & beverage to the volunteers that provided the much needed manpower.

Also major appreciation to all our contributors and sponsors Mr CT Wong from Brunei among others.

To all participants with their accompanying coaches, friends and family, we hope you all had a great time. Thankfully, the weather was kind to us. We welcome all feedback to make it better next year.

Last but not least, to the tireless SSC Pesta Renang Committee and all contributing parents, this is all possible because of you.

Thank you again! See you in the next post.

SSC AGM 2025

As with every organization, there will come a time to say thank you and reluctant farewell to long-serving stalwarts.

SSC is no different. Dr Rosalie Yip, Madam Stephanie Siew, Madam Janelle Tan and Madam Eileen Cheah have been committed to SSC for at least the past decade. Their children have swam for SSC even before they rose to committee status. It's an involvement that SSC will forever be grateful for.

Madam Janelle has opted to stay on to serve the club further, we thank her for that. An experienced guiding hand is always welcomed.

A new set of committee members hope to fill in some big shoes and continue to make SSC a successful non-profit story.

Again, the club expresses its deepest appreciation to the ladies who have stepped down. We wish you all the best in future endeavours. Stay happy and healthy.

Kejohanan Akuatik MSSM 2025

23 - 29 May 2025

Pusat Akuatik Arena Larkin, Johor Bahru

It's MSSM season. Stingray has 5 swimmers representing Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur for the week in JB.

Felt like an earlier than usual MSSM this year. Our swimmers looked and felt ready for the competition.

Congrats to Bowie, Cory, Lucas and Dominic for making podium. Team Selangor came out tops.

To travel and compete is a valuable lesson in preparedness and sticking to routine. Logistics are definitely not in the travelling team's favour.

Great job done by everyone.

SSC would like to thank the MSSS teachers' team for taking care of the swimmers, We would like to thank Johor for making us feel welcome and congrats for a very well run competition. Our swimmers definitely look forward to returning to Arena Larkin.

We would also like to thank and for joint-sponsoring the competition.

It's a new format this year for the Sportexcel Circuit. Three locations are conducted simultaneously for Leg One and also for Leg Two. Points collected across each leg will be tallied up to determine the grand finalists.

Congrats to Yu Xuan, Kendryk and Dom for podium finishes. Looks like Kendryk has promoted himself to the bigger league. Good job, keep working hard.

Yu Xuan had an incident in the 200Back, good thing she could continue swimming. We wish her a full recovery in time for next week's MSSM.
