Aikido Fudoshin Malaysia

Today, 24 April 2026, I joined Tenshinkai Aikido Hue, for memorial service for their founding sensei Phong and also O’ sensei.

Many students young and senior also attended the memorial services and participated in demonstrations amongst all members.
I was also invited to share aikido demonstration; I highlight how to apply irimi nage, shihon nage and kokyu nage with bokken, tanto and Jo. Finally jiyu waza, demonstrating the fluidity of Aikido in blending all the principles of avoidance, off balancing via( harmonisation & centralization) or atemi (direct contact), leading or flowing with the line of attack either diverting or throwing etc.

Visiting Makati Aikido Club 31st Jan & 1st Feb who organised Tomoyuki Yoshida Shihan seminar in Makati, Philippines.

Sensei Yoshida is part of the lineage of Seigo Yamaguchi(and the rest including Seishiro Endo,Yoshinobu Takeda,Masatoshi Yasuno and Christian Tissier.

Heard so much about Yamaguchi sensei however I have not met nor train with him, but have had several sessions with sensei Christian Tissier, once with Masatoshi Yasuno and now Yoshida.

And so giving me an oppprtunity to meet up with Phillipines Aikikai group across the countries, as far as Cebu.

Aikido you enjoy the keiko, enhance your learning and picking up importance points; adapt and innovate your competency to be efficient and effective.

Conducted a special Aikido Class, “Centralization & Control” with Aikido Fudoshin Malaysia, after over 1.5 years, since April 2024.

Step 1:-Start with stable aikido stance at all tìme ; either Hadari hanmi or Migi hanmi and at arm length maai (for training-enhance focus, speed and efficiency)
Step 2:-Class focus -Ryote tori/ Yokomen -motion, to control & restrain, off balancing (kuzushi) & engage hara/harminization (centre) with Irimi & tenkan
Step 3:-Apply techniques -Tenshin nage, Irimi Nage 3 ways, Aiki Atoshi and sumio Atoshi and kokyu nage; focus on throwing smoothly and efficiently
Step 4:- Finish class with Suwari waza kokyu ho; control center line and use techniques like Tenchi nage, Irimi nage, extension of both hands and engage hara with opponent until he/she is off balance.
