My problem is working out gets boring!

Before I became a trainer, I remember going to my regular Zumba class and finally feeling alive again for the first time in forever. The trainer eventually approached me and asked me if I had ever considered getting certified. Long story short, eventually I did take her suggestion, and Joanne, if you ever read this, I canโt thank you enough.
-
-
-
Shortly after getting my License to train, I noticed myself yawning in the regular Zumba classes I was taking, so I tried other Zumba classes and strangely, same thing. *yawn*ย
-
-
-
Anyway, I took myself towards lifting, which I continue to do regularly but only 6 months down that road with weights, Hiit caught my attention. which I still love just as much as weights. But again, I started wanting something more (typical โson of Adamโ here smh)โฆ and once I moved to Malaysia I was introduced to Muay Thai . I took that for 3 yearsย (which iA i hope to return to at some point soon .)ย That cycle tho, it continued as i opened my world up to Pilates so I got certified in that too.ย

Does that seem odd to you? Or do you have a similar story somewhere in your journey?ย
-
-ย

All that to explain that becoming bored with your workouts is normal (especially if you have ADD as I do) and especially if itโs repetitive. Thereโs actually a part of our brain that when it experiences a new kind of exercise it begins to carve out new neural pathways to help you perform that specific choreography (or movement) better and better.ย The problem is that Those neuropathways get well-trodden or stamped on over and over again to the point where itโs no longer cognitively interesting to your brain.

Although ๐ itโs even better on your body when you shake things up on it. Try different things, alternate with different components. I mean, if weโre blessed with the ability to push,ย why not push in a variety of directions?!ย

Imagine a program designed to hit different components and not just 1. So that you build in different areas, allowing you the variety you craveโฆ..Ladies!!! โฆ..StrongHer 2.0!!!! And it's dropping this week! (iA)

Each time we Connect with our intuition, it helps that calling become louder, it helps us start that change, helps us want the change. If you're at that stage of life where you want it all to change, congratulations queenie๐๐ฝ it means you're nurturing that connection, creating that bond between our intuition and our self.
Continuing to nurture = continuing to grow.

NO TIME:
2021 we all have multiple roles weโre tryna balance- being a mary-poppins type of parent, an A-level employee, a perfect spouse, living in a โMrs.Cleanโ household,ย etc. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ

Even the 24 hours we have doesnโt seem like it's enough most days tbh. And because theย struggle is so real,ย the first thing we almost always let go of isโฆ.. Our fitness & health. And itโs not just you sis, itโs a whole lotta us. Thatโs the sad part

Good news tho- Back in the day people believed that we needed to workout 1-2 hours a day to get a good, thorough and effective workout. But present day studies have actually proven that theory wrong. Iโm giving you a quick study published by Gillen et al.

They took 2 groups of men and for 12 weeks told one group that they were to workout at a 70% heart rate max (as hard as possible) steadily for 45 minutes and the other group had to workout for only 10 minutes total 3x /week. They had to go โall outโ for 20 seconds and actively rest (slow and steady pace) for 2 minutes . At the end of the 12 weeks they reassessed and found that in both groups their peak oxygen intake increased by 19% (heart health)

Sometimes we worry so much about getting the perfect amount of exercise in so we end up getting no workout in at all.ย

Girllllll, wake up! Donโt be silly, do as much as you can do and leave the rest (to Allah). I mean isnโt that what all religions teach too? Do what we can do and the rest is in Allah's hands

Lockdown isolation was not the most physically active or diet-conscious period of my life.ย I was getting stressed out by the news and there was no way I was getting to the gym - or really, none of us were going anywhere - so I developed a laissez-faire attitude about health and fitness, and now bam! Suddenly I'm at 15 kg more than I was when I already thought I was fat.

It becomes a whole different ball game when you have someone by your side guiding you. Knowing someone else is watching you (Mr.Burns evil laugh) โฆ.it raises the bar, and makes it more difficult to not show up for yourself- even for YOU, sister โslackety slack slack.โ
-
-
-
-
-
-
where you might normally talk yourself out of a workout, if youโve slotted a trainer in, itโs no longer just about you, because that trainer has blocked out that time, essentially for YOU. (also it subconsciously adds pressure sister โslacketyโ) which increases the chances of you showing up.ย

Now that weโve moved from strict shutdowns to less isolation, we canโt blame the lockdown for our slackety ways, sis.ย

Yet, itโs still challenging to get back on track with nutrition and exercise while sticking close to home, especially when weโve been out of rhythm. Thatโs why I created StrongHer 2.0 because I get it, its hard to keep it all up by yourself but itโs definitely possible when you have someone by your side, believing in you & cheering you on.

Everyday I feel pain, sometimes its even paralyzing .
Do you know How many sisterโs consistently have a sense of pain in some part of their body?! The most common ones; their back, maybe a knee, or a shoulder..ย .ย
These poor sisters, imagine waking up EVERY. SINGLE. DAY with PAIN. yikes! Sometimes to higher degrees too, where some feel they canโt function without popping an Advil of some sort.ย ย
First, if that's you sis, I'm sorry, because living with any kind of pain is hard , no doubt, but living with intense pain is so unfortunate. The pain can get so excruciating it drowns out the shine that the world around you carries.ย
For anyone who canโt understand, imagine a mode of transportation: our everyday cars..ย ย
ย They bring us to where we have to go every single day. With that kind of daily usage, the natural cycle is, it'll eventually start deteriorating. Itโs just part of the process. and in these times, theyโre not made the same, they break down a lot quicker so what do we do? We go for maintenance. We oil up , we refuel, we realign, we inspect and we do whatever we gotta do to keep that vehicle, because vehicles are expensive and we rely on them heavily.ย
Sure, Thatโs from a materialistic viewpoint but one that we connect to because we know that itโll hit our pockets hard (and mess with our schedules).ย
So let me set this record straightโฆ.ย we basically make this materialistic thing a priority just because money is involved?!ย
Worrying about your car is definitely valid, especially when it affects your pay and your day and I'm not saying you shouldnโt worry about your car either.ย
What I want to draw your attention to though, is that thereโs a vehicle that matters more than any car that we could ever own or any materialized object for that matter and it is our soul's only mode of transportation ; our body.ย
How much would you pay for a back? Or a knee? I mean, no matter what you say no mentally rational person (who lives with privileges) would sell their shoulder, even if they were offered sayโฆ a million dollars.ย
