Welcome back, David Christopher.
For many ultra runners in Malaysia, David has long been a familiar name — especially when the race means going long, digging deep, and somehow finding a reason to go for one more loop.
Looping races are very much his forte.
A Spartathlon finisher in Greece, David has also built a strong Backyard Ultra record, including wins in Malaysia and a 48-yard performance at Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra in the USA — approximately 322KM.
At UiTM Ultra Vol.7, David took on the 162KM category, finishing as his category champion and 2nd overall.
He sat out Vol.8 simply because there was no distance beyond 104KM.
Now, there is.
And interestingly, part of what makes this new challenge so demanding carries a little bit of David’s input too.
During our conversations, David was one of the people who pushed for the 203KM challenge to come with a tight 36-hour cut-off — not just a long distance, but a race that demands proper pacing, discipline, and consistency from start to finish.
So perhaps it is only fitting that he now comes back to take on the challenge himself.
203KM. 35 loops. 36 hours.
A race that asks you to keep coming back for one more loop.
Sounds familiar.
