*Match Summary* - Rangers vs Belmont T20
And the winning streak continues…😊!
Rangers picked up the field exactly from the point where they had left Johor, against a very promising and positive side - *Belmont Lions* at Kelab Aman today morning.
Winning the toss, Rangers put the opposition in to bat at a moist and damp wicket. Belmont started cautiously and secured a decent start, finishing at 33/0 in 5 overs. With that, Rangers shifted the gear and quickly started picking the wickets in almost every over for next 6-7 overs; thus restricting the opposition to 63/6 in 13 overs and 92/9 in 17 overs. Belmont salvaged the situation and added 21 runs for last wicket and posed an at-par total of 113 runs, given the conditions.
But, as I said, Rangers continued the batting form as well and never allowed bowlers to pose any threat, barring initial 2-3 overs which posed a slight threat. With positive intent and skillful batting strokes, rangers chased the targets in 16th over, with only 4 wickets down.
Our best wishes to Belmont Lions and it was a pleasure to play with them! We are sure that Belmont will certainly intensify the competition in Cricket at KL! 😊
*Match 2 Summary*
At the toss, it was CSK who walked back smiling, with a decision to bowl first! It was much anticipated, indeed!
Rangers started their batting very confidently and were always maintaining 7+ RR for first 7 overs! Ratheesh and Neethish paved the solid foundation with a solid performance of 25 and 55 runs respectively, thus seeing Rangers to 75/1 in 10 overs. After Neethish, Any and Pankaj took up the responsibility to continue the scoreboard ticking at the right pace. Finally, AJ and Tanveer added the much needed firepower towards the end ensured a mammoth total of 180!
Chasing a target of 181, CSK could not stand a chance against opening bowling spell of Bhavya & Bharat, who rammed through the batting line up for 32/5 in 8 overs, picking a wicket in every over for first 4 overs!
After that, Neethish dismantled the lower order and so, it was just another easy walk for Rangers who won the match by a huge margin of 90 runs - CSK ALL OUT AT 90! 😊

Rangers beat CSK 2-0 in a bilateral series at Johor!
Match 1 Summary: KL Rangers vs CSK at JCA Oval, Johor Bahru.
It was the first game of long awaited 2-match T20 series between KL Rangers and CSK. The last event ended at 1-1 draw, so this event was more of a decider, at least for the year 2022!
Rangers won the toss and opted to bowl on a very wet day, and even wetter pitch 😊, so to capitalise the bowling conditions.
Rangers started their bowling campaign with aggressive and tight bowling, thus restricting CSK at 32/1 in 5 overs. However; it was Ratheesh’s magical *FIFER* spell that proved devastating for CSK, along with valuable contribution from *Pankaj (2 wickets)*. *Ratheesh: 5 wickets, 4 overs, 6 runs!!*
CSK bundled out for 100!
Rangers started cautiously and were again 32/1 in 5 overs. Ratheesh contributed handsomely with bat as well (24 runs) and lead from the front until the score was 67/2 in 10 overs. Finally, Prash (29*) and Bhavya (20*) brought Rangers home very comfortably in just 15.3 overs.. IT WAS A COMPREHENSIVE WIN! 😊
Stay tuned for Rangers matches on 16th Oct: 2 match T20 series vs CSK at Johor..
this in 1997
India played Pakistan in the 2nd odi at National Stadium, Karachi in a must win match of the Wills Challenge bilateral odi series, which was played after 8 years between these two countries in Pakistan.
Pakistan won the 1st match comprehensively & by this, they made the remaining 2 odis of that series must win for India.
Winning the toss , Captain Saeed Anwar opted to bat & on a good batting track, Shahid Afridi, his opening partner made a merry of it by a blistering 72(56) with 9 fours & 1 six..
Inzamam Ul Haq also played his part in the middle order with 74(92) & Moin Khan smashed an important cameo to take over his team to a healthy total of 265 in 47.2 overs.. But the match was halted for 4 times in between due to unruly crowd as they were throwing stones to the players in the ground.. Some of the indian players were injured as well by this stone-throwing. Sourav Ganguly was one of among them .
Players were forced to walk out after the 4th interruption that brought an abrupt end to Pakistan's innings in the 48th over and India were set a target of 266 in 47 overs.
In reply, India went to a solid opening start as the opening duo Sachin-Sourav added 71 runs on the 1st wicket..
Tendulkar gone after after playing a short but quickfire 21(18) but Ganguly looked very much solid in the crease when he cut Waqar Younis to Deep point region .
Against the likes of both Waqar Younis & Saqlain Mushtaq , Ganguly & Vinod Kambli added 98 runs on 2nd wicket with a very healthy run rate to keep their chase alive.
Some of the drives Ganguly played against Aqib Javed & Saqlain were really treat to watch out..
Ganguly got out after playing an important & fantastic knock of 89(96) with 11 boundaries but chase was still on as still 97 runs needed to level the series.
Robin Singh held his nerve & successfully chased the score by 31(32) * in 46.3 overs despite of having little collapse in the middle order as Azharuddin & Ajay Jadeja both failed to score double digit mark .
For that excellent 89, Sourav Ganguly was adjudged Man of the Match which helped India to keep the series alive till 3rd odi.

Winning is important, but ‘winning together’ is MOST IMPORTANT!
*Rangers beat Smashers United in a T20 *
It was yet another victory for Rangers; 4th on the trot and 8th in last 11 matches!! 😊
Rangers lost the toss and was put into bat on a pretty spin-friendly track! Rangers got an amazing start and were quickly 25/0 in 3 overs! And then, few bad strokes of luck lead to loss of 2 quick wickets, thus resulting in slowing of scoring rate. Smashers United displayed exemplary skills in bowling department by deploying ‘slow-ball’ tactics that worked in their favour. However; each batsmen put chipped in with crucial 1s 2s and ensured an at-par score of 130/9.
In the second innings, it was pure display of class by opening bowlers, that restricted smasher United to 24/3 in 6 overs. Outstanding combination of swing and seam bowling. However; smashers United fought really well in the middle and managed 59/3 in 10 overs, making the contest interesting enough. But, Rangers bowlers once again successfully dismantled the middle order and restricted the opponent team at 109/9.
Stars ⭐️:
1. Bobby - 3 wickets; could have been 5
2. Rathish - 31 that lead a great start
Overall, it was a team-effort across departments that lead us to victory, as always! 😊
Our sincere thanks to all who wish for our success and contribute to our growth, in any way 😊🙏
