IMProVision Volleyball Academy aims to improve the level of volleyball in Malaysia, promote the sport and empowering people with the sport of volleyball.
Coach M graduated from an Australian University with a degree (with honours) in Chemical Engineering. After working several years in the chemical engineering industry, he has realized his ultimate passion is still on behavioral sciences and learning sciences, especially on motor behavior, athletic performance and volleyball. He has decided to developed himself to pursuit a professional coaching an
d education career, dedicate to sports and education. His experience as a volleyball player includes:
1. 2005 - 2006: he joined his school team when he was in Senior 2, his team has won the district champion.
2. 2007 - 2011: he actively participate in his university competition, winning gold, silver and bronze multiple times.
3. 2009: he joined Western Australia Beach Volleyball State Developmental Squad's training. In year 2009, he served the Western Australia Volleyball Association (Volleyball WA) and that experience has inspired him to work as a coach. As a coach, his experience includes:
1. 2007: assistant coaching his ulma matter high school in both boys and girls team, with team winning district champion.
2. 2008 - 2011: he was actively involved in volleyball club in his university, as club advisor, secretary and technique instructor.
3. 2009: he worked with Volleyball WA as recreation beach volleyball instructor.
4. 2010: he founded women's volleyball school team in his university, winning invitations and friendly games domestically.
5. 2011: he has acquired Basic Coaching Principal webinar certification from Australian Sports Commission.
6. 2011: he has acquired Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory (IMPACT) webinar certification and Strength and Conditioning 101 certification from USA Volleyball.
7. 2012: he has acquired Level 1 International Coaching Course certification from (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, FIVB).
8. 2013: he has participated in Youth Leadership Program in Gwangju, Korea, organized by United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) after recommended by the FIVB.
9. 2013 - 2015: he coached a high school team in Malaysia, team winning zone champion.
10. 2014 - 2016: he volunteered himself to assist in training in Malaysia Men's National Team.
11. 2016 - 2019: he started his studies in National Taiwan Normal University on Master of Athlete Performance and Sports Sciences, assisting the school Men's and Women's division A and Men's division B volleyball team, graduated in 2019 after completed his thesis on "A Study on the Effect of Block-defense Performance on Counter-attack Efficacy and Match Result in Men's Volleyball".
12. 2017: he has acquired Level 2 International Coaching Course certification from (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, FIVB).
13. 2019: he was assigned as assistant coach for Top Speed Women's Volleyball Club in Taiwan and assisted the club in preparing for Taichung Bank Asian Women's Volleyball Invitation Tournament.
14. 2019: he was assigned as performance analyst and assistant coach for Selangor U16 Boys volleyball team and helped the team to win Gold Medal for 2019 Milo U16 Youth National Volleyball Championship.
15. He has actively involved in domestic team as coaching assistant, coaching the young and hope to promote volleyball, cultivate the passion to the sport and improve the level of performance. Until now, he still participates in domestic and international workshops on volleyball, sports coaching and training. He is eager and constantly want to learn more, thirsts to improve his knowledge, ability, capability and experience on coaching. He wants to make positive impact on people's life and to build a better world with sports. He has wide range of passions and interests across many different field, mainly focus on:
1. Volleyball technical, tactical aspects and teaching.
2. Sports coaching and training methodology.
3. Sports performance analysis.
4. First-aid and nursing, strength and conditioning, physical therapy.
5. Biomechanics, sports and exercise physiology and other related sports sciences.
6. Motor behavioral sciences and theories, motor learning and development.
7. Cognitive psychology, cognitive learning sciences and theories, intellectual development, learning and teaching methodology and skills.
8. Social psychology, analysis psychology, applied behavioral analysis, behavior modification sciences and methodology.
9. Data analytics, data mining and data visualization.
2019 upon returning to Malaysia, he has decided to start a platform to let younger coaches to exchange ideas and opinions, learn from each other on volleyball training methodology and theories, so everyone in volleyball community can improve and advance. Everyone is benefited from ideas and opinion exchange and this can make volleyball a better sport!
