Flag Football was first introduced to Southwestern University in 2005 by Mikko Campecino, a nursing alumnus. 'This hailed us to be the first and only university with a flag football event in their intramurals in the whole Philippines.' The College of Nursing Flag Football Team reigned as champions for four consecutive years and remains to be a dominating force as we took back the title during the sixth season.

In a moment that will go down in the history of Velez, the Velez Cougars claimed victory in their debut Intercollegiate Flag Football Championship!
In a hard-fought battle against the CIT Maurauders, the Velez Cougars emerged triumphant with a final score of 12-6 securing the CFFL Intercollegiate Season IX Super Bowl title.
