The Malaysia Women Scuba Divers Association (WASEM) is honoured to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WWF-Malaysia on 23rd July 2026, marking another significant milestone in WASEM's journey towards advancing marine conservation, sustainable aquatic tourism, and community empowerment.

The MoU was signed by Pn Hjh Mastura Abd Manap, President of WASEM, and Ms Sophia Lim, Chief Executive Officer of WWF-Malaysia, in the presence of Dr Wirdati Mohd. Radzi, WASEM Advisor, and Ms Tay Mooi Geok, Senior Director of Partnerships, WWF-Malaysia.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the official launch of the Save Our Corals Affinity Fundraising Programme, officiated by Ms Sophia Lim, reinforcing our shared commitment to protecting Malaysia's precious coral reef ecosystems through collaborative action, conservation awareness, and community participation.

The ceremony was further strengthened by the presence of WASEM's strategic ocean partner, Ombak Ocean Warrior, together with the Ms Jenny Lee, President of INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF SPORTS AQUATIC TOURISM, reflecting a united commitment among industry leaders to drive meaningful and sustainable impact for our oceans.
This strategic partnership represents more than the signing of an agreement, it signifies a shared vision to inspire greater environmental stewardship, empower communities, and create lasting positive change for future generations.

The MoU was officially signed by Pn Hjh Mastura Abd Manap, President of WASEM, and Pn Syakiroh Abd Hamid (CXO), Loft & Brown, in a signing ceremony held at the Asia Ballet Academy.
This strategic collaboration signifies a shared commitment to delivering impactful programmes that empower women, strengthen leadership, and promote excellence in sports and aquatic tourism through professional event management, strategic communications and brand development.
