The shoulders that never fully drop.
The back that’s been stiff for years.
The neck that holds everything your day couldn’t resolve.
If this is you… you’re not alone.
Quiet, intentional practice

In most yoga classes, the teacher is managing everyone.
Cueing the next pose. Keeping the group together. Making sure no one falls behind.
You are one of many. The instruction is for the room, not for you.
What if the teaching was just for you?
At Metta, I move through the room while you practice. I watch how you move. I notice what your body is working through today, not the class, not the group. You.
You are guided into your own sequence, one pose at a time. Not handed a full practice and left to figure it out - but shown, adjusted, and steadied at every step until the sequence becomes something you know in your body, not just your head.
Sometimes I adjust. Sometimes I say one thing that changes everything. Sometimes I simply hold the space while you settle into what you already know.
You are never lost. You are never alone on your mat.
You are simply… finally… being seen.
This is a different kind of attention. Quieter. More precise. And for the students who have experienced it, there is no going back to being one of many.
If you’ve practiced with me on Monday evenings, you already know this feeling.
If you’ve been looking for this - not to be managed, but to be truly met - this is what I teach.
Guided Personal Practice with Grace - Monday evenings 6.30pm at Metta. Small group. Beginning May.
the world is loud enough
we kept it quiet in here for a reason

They came.
Before we began, I asked each of them, what brings you here?
They all said the same thing. Something to come back to when life gets heavy. A way to take care of themselves.
Halfway through the session, I stopped thinking about what I was doing and just listened with them.
They told me the next day they felt unusually tired, but rested.
Peaceful.
I know that tiredness. It’s what the body does when it finally puts something down.
That’s all I wanted for them.
goodnight to the room that held us today
not everything needs explaining yet
new bowls, new hands to hold them this Saturday
the rain came, so we made it warmer inside
