Ilha Blue have been promoting the use of bikes since 2012. We were the first to offer bike tours, to this we've added Rent Aqui bike hire and of course on instagram and facebook. Now we are pleased to see other tour operators offering visitors this clean and friendly way to get around. Good news for visitors, good news for Ilha

Making positive change. 'Rent Aqui' is working with interested businesses on Ilha to create a better environment for bike riders. Soon we will be launching bike rental for visitors to Ilha with quality bikes located in participating Guest houses and hotels - so far O Escondidinho and Rickshaws have agreed to join in and we hope more businesses will soon follow.

And there's more good news. 10% of rental income will be invested back into bike focused social projects so that not only tourists but local people benefit. We'd first like to buy a cargo bike for a local entrepreneur to rent (at a very low rate) to transport good around instead of using a hand cart

Prompted by this initiative a couple of other businesses have committed to bikes for Ilha. Villa Sands, a local hotel have bought their own bikes for use of guests and Moz Adventures have invested in battery powered scooters that people can rent - momentum is building!

By the way. If you're reading this you are ahead of the pack. We don't intend to launch 'Rent Aqui' properly until we have enough local businesses on board.
