Our swimming classes will continue throughout the winter, in our covered and heated pool 💙

7 Reasons why you shouldn't stop Swim lessons after summer is over:

1. Routine - Having a routine is a great thing. Children will start to get excited about going to swim and look forward to their next lesson.
2. Safety - Just because it's not summer doesn't mean children aren't near water. Continuing to learn swim techniques and becoming a stronger swimmer can help reduce the chance of an accident should a child fall into a body of water.
3. Reiterate what you've learn - Each lesson, children learn something new, but also practice what they've learned. By doing so, they become stronger swimmer and gain confidence in their ability in the pool.
4. Creating a love of swimming - Whether you have a water baby or not, by continuing swim lessons, they will create a love of swimming that will last their whole lives.
5. Great exercise - Just being in the water is a stress reliever, but it's also great to exercise. There are so many ways to challenge oneself in the water, and it's great for all ag
6. Helps kids in school - Swimming has been scientifically linked to a large number of health benefits and also to better academic performance. Children who swam during developmental years achieved several physical and mental milestones faster than non-swimmers.

Overall and in most cases, exercise is safe during pregnancy. You will usually find it is even recommended. Typically, the first rule of thumb is if you were physically active before you were pregnant, it is likely safe to remain active during pregnancy, as long as it is comfortable and there are no other health conditions suggesting otherwise.
Now is not the time to exercise for weight loss, however, proper exercise during pregnancy will likely help with weight loss after the delivery of your baby. Exercise does not put you at risk for miscarriage in a normal pregnancy. You should consult with your health care provider before starting any new exercise routine.

Why exercising during pregnancy is a healthy choice:

1. Helps you cope with the physical changes of pregnancy.
2. Bilds stamina to the challenges ahead.
3. Prevents excess weight gain.
4. Promotes muscle tone, strength and endurance.
5. Reduces backaches, bloating, swelling and constipation.
6. Boosts your mood and energy levels.
7. Helps you sleep better.
8. Regular exercise in the water has minimal stress on your joints and helps your circulation.

Other benefits of regular exercise during pregnancy may include shortened labor, reduced risk of C-section and faster recovery.

Although exercise during pregnancy is generally good for both mother and baby, you must first get the ok from your health care provider.
