Sooooo my dear friends of well-kept kayak fishing, I hope you survived the strenuous winter well.

Since the fish have been very subdued in the last few months and I've been working a lot as a tour guide in the desert and for the project, there hasn't been that much to post.
I hope that changes again now!

Yesterday I had my first large group this summer and we were in the perfect place at the perfect time. We launched at the Mole and after a short time we were sitting on a large school of sardines. Wherever there is bait fish, the predators are not far away.
After about an hour the time had come and the rods bent like crazy. Both Kabeljau weighed between 13 and 14 kg and were released after a short photo session.

"Limit your catch" and not "catch your limit"!

Another year has passed and it was time again for our fresh water Van Bach dam competition fun weekend.

What can I say, I think epic is the best word for it!!!

The water level this year was much lower than last year and we had to work hard for our fish. But it was great fun and I'm really looking forward to the next time. I would like to thank my friends very much for this great weekend!!!!!!!! Next year I'll win the cup 😉

Big thanks also to the Van Bach Dam resort, your campsite is clean, well guarded and you have a fantastic view from the tent. I will gladly come again!

Re-Opening special!!!!!

That was 'n baie lekker morning, we caught some nice Kobs and some Mackerel.

Cold ocean and little fish to catch, so head inland to Van Bach Dam.

We planned a small weekend competition there, which was divided into 3 sessions and what can I say: It was super cool!!! We had to work hard for the fish we caught, but that's the way it should be. Anyone can do it easily.
In the evening there was a lekker braai and we were also able to celebrate a birthday. A weekend with friends, fishing from a kayak, good food and plenty to drink, a fire and a comfortable bed, what more could a man ask for!
We had a lot of fun and will definitely do it again, especially because the trophy can't stay with the Kartonkelmaster ;-)
