🤸♀️ Meet our rhythmic level 1 and level 2 coach!
Elricia started her gymnastics journey at the age of six and trained up to level 5. Her experience as a gymnast gave her a strong foundation in discipline, creativity, and the beauty of the sport.
What she loves most about gymnastics is how it combines strength, flexibility, music, and creativity. For her, rhythmic gymnastics is a unique sport where athletes can express themselves while developing perseverance and confidence.
As a coach, Elricia finds the greatest joy in watching young gymnasts grow - not only in their skills but also in their self-belief. Seeing a gymnast master something they have worked hard on is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching for her.
Her favourite apparatus is clubs, which she enjoys for its rhythm, coordination, and dynamic movement.
Outside of the gym, Elricia enjoys horse riding and has a special interest in equine-assisted therapy. Her passion for working with children also carries into her profession as a Grade 1 teacher at Wonderland & Arcadia - Tsumeb, where she helps young learners grow and develop every day.

🤸♀️ Meet our Fun Gym coach!
Miena Range is a teacher at Wonderland & Arcadia - Tsumeb, and her passion for working with children is clear in everything she does. Her calm, encouraging nature makes little gymnasts feel safe, supported and excited to learn.
Miena has a strong background in rhythmic gymnastics. She competed from primary school through Grade 7, reached Level 6, and proudly earned several medals along the way.
What she loves most about gymnastics is the discipline and coordination it teaches. As a coach, nothing makes her happier than seeing young gymnasts learn new skills and grow stronger and more confident each week.
Her favourite apparatus? The ribbon in rhythmic gymnastics and the beam in artistic gymnastics.
When she’s not at the gym, Miena loves spending quality time with her family and is always looking for fun, active adventures to enjoy together.

We are proud to recognise Djamel, one of our coaches at Tsumeb Gymnastics Club, who has successfully passed his judging examinations and is now qualified to judge internationally.
This is an important achievement for both our club and Namibian gymnastics. Having internationally qualified judges supports fair competition, enables participation at international events, and contributes to the continued growth of the sport in Namibia.
Well done, Djamel - thank you for your commitment to gymnastics and for raising the standard within our club and beyond.

We are incredibly proud to share that three of our gymnasts were recognised at the Namibian Gymnastics Federation prize giving this past weekend.
Zino Meziane was recognised for participating in international competitions, including Algeria, and for achieving medal results at both international and regional competitions. Notably, 2025 marked the first time since 2019 that Namibia had gymnasts competing internationally.
Serine Meziane’s group was awarded the Region 5 Trophy, which will rotate between clubs over the coming months in recognition of participation and achievement at regional level.
Albertus Redelinghuys' group received a trophy award, highlighting the inclusive spirit of gymnastics and the level of excellence being achieved across all athletes.
These achievements reflect not only talent, but consistency, hard work and commitment from the gymnasts, coaches and families involved. We are proud to see our gymnasts representing both their club and Namibia on regional and international platforms.

Why gymnastics? Confidence through mastery.
In gymnastics, progress is visible. A child tries, adjusts, practices - and then succeeds.
That moment when they realise “I can do this” builds a lasting confidence. Not loud confidence. Not pressure-driven confidence. The kind that comes from mastering their own body and trusting their ability to improve with effort.
This is exactly what we aim to nurture at Tsumeb Gymnastics Club a space where children gain confidence through movement, not comparison.
Strong bodies. Steady minds. Confident kids.

Body awareness in gymnastics 🤸🏾♀️🤸♀️
One of the most important foundations in gymnastics is body awareness - the ability for a child to understand where their body is, how it moves, and how to control it. Whether a gymnast is learning a basic roll, balancing on a beam, swinging on bars, or working with rhythmic apparatus, body awareness is what allows movements to be safe, controlled and intentional.
Across all disciplines (yes, fun gym too!), gymnastics develops this awareness through structured movement, repetition and progression. It’s a skill that supports coordination, balance, confidence and injury prevention - and one that benefits children far beyond the gym.
This is why we focus on strong foundations before advanced skills, no matter the discipline.

Why gymnastics? Body awareness.
One of the biggest benefits of gymnastics is the development of body awareness - a child’s ability to understand where their body is in space and how to control it.
During our Fun Gym open day yesterday, we saw this in action: children climbing, rolling, balancing and landing - learning how to move with intention, not just energy.
Body awareness builds the foundation for coordination, posture, balance and injury prevention. It also carries over into every other sport, and even everyday activities like sitting, running and focusing in class.
Gymnastics doesn’t just teach skills - it teaches children how to move well, for life 💪
