She is going for number 6!

Ultra marathon training isn’t glamorous, but she is always there putting in the kilometres, never skips a run and doing what needs to be done.

With Lipstick on!

This year he is taking on his 3rd Comrades Marathon.

Naude likes a difficult challenge, he works hard.

He is usually happiest running in smaller groups — but when it comes to beach runs, he’s always surrounded by his “seal besties.”

This Novice is tough as nails, and not afraid of hard work, or scared to trains on uneven farm roads!

Comrades is new territory, but Ou Sus won’t back down easily.

Once she gets going she is difficult to stop!

Always up for a laugh, willing to support others, and somehow still showing up strong year after year.

Werner continues to inspire with his dedication to the sport. And of course, his singing on those long runs!

16 Comrades is no small achievement. Respect.

With exactly 20 days to go — it’s the perfect time to start introducing our 2026 Comrades runners!
First up is Katja Dreyer
The countdown is officially on, and we cannot wait to support and cheer her all the way to the finish line!

APPRECIATION POST LOADING……..

Every year, at this time – many Comrades runners have (hopefully) started their taper phase.

They reflect on the last 5 months of training.

The super early wake ups.

The groot trek to Goanikontes, in search of the climbs they desperately need.

How tired they are.

Always hungry, searching for food to eat.

Making sure their running shoes have enough tread on them.

Never running out of Vaseline.

Constantly consumed by getting a run in.

Have I mentioned being hungry?

Fellow runners, still in awe of the Mileage their Comrades friends have put on through the year, and how many long runs they have done
– the side eye given when they refer to the Two Oceans Ultra as a training run.

(yes, sorry but it is...)

BUT NO ONE realises the true sacrifice, blood, sweat, loneliness, adjustment THEIR TRIBE has to go through during their Comrades training.

So, to the
husbands
wives
partners
children
families
friends and pets…

The children, they do not see Mom or Dad often on weekends.

Constant afternoon Naps.

The pets waiting patiently at the garden gate for their owner to return.

Husbands / Wife’s, giving up social time – 8 pm bedtime…or falling asleep on a friends couch. (While they are taking to you)

Listening to another disgusting toilet story or having to inspect a gross purple toenail.
The chafing…OK OK, let us leave it at that!

That is why we have decided – to give them a MASSIVE shout out, they are the unsung heroes, the majestic creatures, who are completely and utterly on our sides.

They are the ones who cheer the loudest and boast the most!
Wave their behinds furiously with love when they see us (that’s the dogs).

To each and every one one of you.
We see you, we appreciate you, and we love you.
Without your support and encouragement, we would not be able to survive Comrades season without you!
