NAMPORT AT THE 2026 NAMIBIA OIL AND GAS CONFERENCE
Namport proudly took part in the just ended 4th Namibia Oil and Gas Conference in Windhoek, themed "From Decision to Dividend: Making Namibia's Oil Work for Namibians" a landmark gathering of over 1,500 delegates and 70+ exhibitors.
Officially opened on behalf of President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah by Vice President Lucia Witbooi, the conference spotlighted the critical role of port and logistics readiness as Namibia advances toward major investment decisions, including the Venus development, with first oil targeted before the end of this decade.
Namport reaffirmed the strategic value of its dual-port system, the Port of Walvis Bay and the Port of Lüderitz and its ongoing partnership with the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) in promoting Namibia's trade corridors as key gateways for trade facilitation along Africa's west coast.
As Namibia's official maritime gateway, Namport remains committed to positioning the Ports is Walvis Bay and Lüderitz as the logistics backbone of the nation's oil and gas industry.

The Namibian Ports Authority today hosted a high-level delegation led by H.E. Martin Kazembe Shula, Acting Governor of Haut-Katanga Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from the Erongo Regional Council, while Hon. John Khamuseb, Governor of the Otjozondjupa Region, and his delegation also participated in the visit.
The engagement explored mutually beneficial trade and investment opportunities, including positioning the Port of Walvis Bay as a strategic gateway for Haut-Katanga’s copper and other mineral exports, while identifying areas in which the province can contribute to Namibia’s economic growth.
The delegations received an overview of Namport’s operations and toured the port. Namport CEO Mr Andrew Kanime was represented by Mr Elias Mwenyo, Executive: Commercial Services.
