PRESIDENT NETUMBO NANDI-NDIAITWAH CONGRATULATES THE BRAVE GLADIATORS

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has congratulated the Brave Gladiators for their win against South Africa Banyana Banyana in the COSAFA Women’s Championship.

She said the gladiators achievement is a testament to perseverance, hard work, discipline and unwavering commitment.

The president stated that the victory once again affirms that sustained investment in sport is an investment in youth, national pride and socio-economic development.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah highlighted that sport remains a powerful vehicle for empowerment, unity and opportunity.

The head of state noted that she is immensely proud of the way the women team represented Namibia with honour and distinction.

Dear Namibia fans,

We have unfortunate news: our two Judo athletes will not be able to participate because their weights did not meet the required category limits, and they have therefore been disqualified.
It’s not only Deaf Namibia affected—several other countries are also facing similar disappointment.

Let us stay humble and continue supporting our team. Stay tuned for the opening ceremony this afternoon.
