Historically bred by the Nez Perce for intelligence and stamina, they are incredibly versatile athletes. They excel in trail riding, western disciplines, rodeo events, and even English sports like dressage and jumping.

The SHAN committee is already underway and busy with planning fundraising for the two shows scheduled for 2026. The idea is that the first show will be held in May or June, with only riding classes offered on a Friday afternoon and Saturday. This show date still needs to be finalized. The main show will be held on 9 and 10 October.
If any of the other associations have already set their show dates for 2026, we would appreciate it if you could share them with us, so that there is no overlap of show dates.
We look forward to a wonderful show year for all associations and horse breeds.
