We’re incredibly proud of Fenestha Pienaar and Brenda Liman, who recently travelled to Zimbabwe for the Junior Hockey Series, taking on important roles within the tournament.

Fenestha served as Assistant Coach of the U16 Girls and also took to the field as an umpire. Seeing Fenestha step into the role of Assistant Coach of a national team is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of her continued growth within the sport. International umpiring is also nothing new for Fenestha, who continues to grow and make her mark as an official on the international stage.

For Brenda, the series marked her first time serving as a Technical Official at an international tournament. With her experience as a team manager, moving from managing a team to being on the other side of the table as a Technical Official is a new experience, and another milestone in her hockey journey.

We’re so proud of both ladies and the continued growth they are showing in their respective roles within the sport. It’s inspiring to see our members expanding their expertise, taking on new challenges, and making their mark beyond our borders. πŸ‘πŸ’™

Champions, celebrated. πŸ†πŸ’™

On Friday 17 July, we were honoured to be welcomed and recognised by NUST following our men’s USSA Championship victory. Receiving this recognition from the University, and hearing the words of pride and encouragement from Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andrew Niikondo, made the occasion even more special.

The team captains, Matuu Kavikairiua and Kay Kamwi, shared heartfelt reflections on the journey, the challenges we overcame, and what this title means to the club. It was a reminder that this achievement belongs not only to the players, but to everyone who supported us along the way.

We are incredibly grateful to the University leadership, our sponsors, supporters, coaching and management staff, and everyone who believed in us. Your support helped make this moment possible.

Here’s to building on this success and to making even more memories at USSA in 2027.

The journey continues! πŸ’™πŸ‘

πŸ‘ Weekend Results πŸ‘

It was a challenging day for the Navy Blue Army as both of our Premier Reserve sides were in outdoor league action.

Our Premier Reserve Men were involved in a much closer contest against Windhoek Old Boys. The match was a fiercely contested encounter that could have gone our way. Unfortunately, despite creating opportunities and pushing until the final whistle, we fell to a 3–2 defeat. Our focus remains on controlling what we can and bouncing back stronger in the next fixture.

Our Premier Reserve Ladies endured a difficult start to their outdoor league campaign, falling 12–0 to a strong Sparta side. While the scoreline wasn’t the start they were hoping for, the team will take the lessons from the match and shift their focus to the fixtures ahead.

Results may not always go your way, but every match is another opportunity to learn, improve, and come back stronger. On to the next one. πŸ’™πŸ‘

πŸ‘πŸ’™ A New Chapter for Our Ladies Team πŸ’™πŸ‘

As we continue building for the future, we’re excited to announce the new coaching team that will lead our ladies squad.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Eslon Ngeendepi for his dedication and commitment to the ladies team over the years. πŸ‘ Full Time: NUST 5–3 Masters πŸ’™

Our Premier Reserve Men opened their outdoor league campaign with a hard-fought 5–3 victory over Masters in an entertaining match.

We got off to the perfect start by opening the scoring early, but Masters responded with two quick goals to take the lead. Rather than letting the game get away from us, we showed great composure to fight back with two goals of our own, taking a 3–2 lead into the halftime break.

The second half was just as competitive. We extended our advantage, only for Masters to pull one back and keep the pressure on. With a few minutes left, we found one last goal to put the result beyond doubt and secure the victory.

The result sees us walk away with three points and the bonus point, the perfect way to begin our outdoor league campaign. πŸ‘

Man of the Match was awarded to newcomer Jacob Liermann, who made an outstanding impression in his first match for the Navy Blue Army. His composure, work rate, and ability to contribute at both ends of the field were on full display, creating several attacking opportunities while remaining solid defensively throughout the match. A fantastic debut performance. βπŸ‘

Our men’s team completed a flawless 5-from-5 tournament with a 3–1 victory over SPU to be crowned 2026 USSA C Section Champions. A week of hard work, resilience, and exceptional teamwork culminated in lifting the trophy once again.

From the disappointment of 2025 to standing at the top in 2026, this team wrote a remarkable comeback story. This is USSA title number two for the Navy Blue Army, and one that will be remembered for years to come.

The Navy Blue Army are USSA C Section Champions! πŸ†πŸ”₯

Our men capped off a phenomenal tournament with a 3–1 victory over SPU in a fiercely contested final to reclaim the championship in style.

NUST struck early to take the lead, but SPU refused to back down, producing a competitive final worthy of the occasion. Remaining composed under pressure, our men delivered when it mattered most, securing the victory and completing an extraordinary tournament.

Five matches. Five wins. Champions.

After the disappointment of the 2025 tournament and relegation, the team responded in the best way possible, producing an unbeaten campaign to earn promotion and once again lift the USSA trophy.

Congratulations to every player and member of the management team on an unforgettable achievement. The Navy Blue Army is champions once again! πŸ’™πŸ†
