With the leadership of our *Executive Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Umar Abdullahi* - _Young, Gallant and Vibrant_ - and the appointment of *Amb. Salihu Zakari Galadima* as _Supervisory Councillor for Education and Social Development_, the Council is set for major reforms. This is a *gradual but strategic process*.

Under the developmental drive for sports, the reforms will focus on:

- *Inter-Primary & JSS Competitions* - For talent discovery at the grassroot level
- *Training & Capacity Building* - For local coaches and referees
- *Increased Youth Participation* - In football and other sporting disciplines
- *Scholarships & Empowerment* - For outstanding young athletes
- *Strong Collaboration* - With FCT FA, Coaches Association, and other sports bodies
- *Sports for Development* - Using sports to promote *peace, unity, discipline and healthy lifestyles* among youths

This is the new direction for sports in Abaji.

*SPORTS: THE MISSING PIECE IN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT – AN APPEAL TO THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, ABAJI AREA COUNCIL*

Your Excellency,
The Executive Chairman, Abaji Area Council

We salute your commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and your efforts in repositioning Abaji for growth.

However, as stakeholders concerned about our youths, we wish to humbly appeal for urgent consideration of the Sports sector

In the recent appointments, AFCC noticed that Sports was not given representation Yet, Sports is more than games.
Sports is a panacea for youth engagement and crime reduction.

Today, Abaji youth.
With Sports:
- Youths are engaged, disciplined, and productive
- Crime rates drop because minds and hands are busy
- Abaji gains recognition through tournaments and talents
- We build unity across the 10 wards

We respectfully appeal that you consider appointing a Focal Person on Sports, include sports in Council programs, and support grassroots competitions

Give Sports a seat at the table, and you will see the transformation in our youths.

We trust in your listening ear and youth-friendly leadership.
