Scrabble Event Rounds Up at Gateway Games 2024!
In thrilling doubles action:
Doko & Jimoh (Ogun) won Menβs with +844 points.
Adekansi & Afolayan (Ogun) dominated Womenβs with 1984 points!
FCT bagged Intermediate gold, while Lagos, Edo, and Delta battled for podium spots.
With medals spread across 10 states, Ogun leads the chart. The final team events are wrapping up today.

Ogun Dominates Scrabble Doubles at Gateway Games 2024!
After a slow start in singles, Team Ogun roared back to top the scrabble doubles with 3 gold medals in Menβs, Womenβs, and Intermediate events. Led by champions like Oluwatimilehin Doko, Abdulmumin Jimoh, Adebisi Adekansi, and Bukunmi Afolayan, Ogun now tops the scrabble medal table!
FCT and Bayelsa follow with 2 golds each, while Delta, Edo, and Lagos also shine. The scrabble showdown ends today with the Team event finale!

Glory for Ogun and Edo at the 2025 NSF Scrabble Festival! ποΈππΎ
It was a festival of brilliance, strategy, and mental mastery at the 2025 NSF Scrabble Festival!
George Ezinore of Edo State claimed the prestigious NSF Green Jacket, emerging champion of the Asaph Zadok National Scrabble Championship after an intense contest featuring Africaβs best. With 20 wins, a draw, and +922 cumulative points, Ezinore proved that consistency, resilience, and home support can lead to greatness. He dedicated his victory to Edoβs scrabble community and praised the Edo State Sports Commission for their support.
Gateway SC from Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, shocked the scene by clinching the NSF InterClub Championship in style! Led by veteran Cyril Umebiye, the youthful team dominated with a 4β1 win over Yenagoa SC in the finals, wrapping up the title with 20 wins out of 25 games and +1204 points.
Kudos to the stars of the tournament: Doko Timilehin Timothy , Abdulmumin Jimoh, David Ojih, and many more for lighting up the board with exceptional performances.

Nigeria Scrabble Federation: Tournament Director Certification Training
The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) is set to train and certify new Tournament Directors, Adjudicators, and Coaches. To make participation easier, training sessions will be held across multiple locations.

The Scrabble Association of Ghana is pleased to announce Kofi Bingo as the official mascot of the 2025 World English-Language Scrabble Players Association Championship.
Kofi Bingo the mascot looks forward to welcoming every Scrabble player to Ghana later in November.
We are pleased to also let Scrabble players know that the WESPAC 2025 dedicated website will be published on Saturday 1st February, 2025. Players can find information about the championship, LCQ and the other side events that will happen side by side WESPAC. Players will also be able to register on the website.
