Last week marked the conclusion of our practical classes in baseball and softball for this semester at Ekiti State University Ado-Ekiti, culminating in the successful administration of the practical examinations. This achievement signifies a commendable milestone in our academic and athletic endeavors for the term.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Head of Department, and Lecturer in Charge, Prof Oladepo Patrick Oyeniyi and Mrs. Olufunke Olayinka Aina PhD, for her unwavering support and guidance throughout the semester’s practical sessions. Additionally, we wish to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our coaches and senior players who voluntarily participated in the practical examinations. Their dedication and generosity were instrumental in ensuring the success and memorability of this assessment.

Ekiti State distinguishes itself within Nigeria and across Africa as the only state to have engaged comprehensively in baseball, from Little League to Major League levels. Furthermore, Ekiti is the sole Nigerian state to have integrated baseball into its university curriculum. These milestones underscore our significant advancement in the sport.

Furthermore, we wish to acknowledge all our coaches and senior players who generously traveled from Ado-Ekiti to ensure the success and memorability of our practical examination.

Ekiti State stands out in Nigeria and across Africa, being the sole state that has engaged in baseball from the Little League to Major League levels. Moreover, Ekiti is the only state in Nigeria that has incorporated baseball into its university curriculum. We are indeed significantly advanced in this game. We feel privileged that our UIC, Oluwafemi Aina, had the opportunity to be under your guidance in 2023 and 2025 at the Little League Umpire Academy in San Bernardino, California, United States of America. Nate's leadership, professionalism, and dedication have left a lasting impression, inspiring all of us.
