Sadly Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye lost her quarterfinal women’s wrestling 57kg fight, narrowly missing out on a place in the semifinals.

Odunayo had won her second round fight to Fouzia Aouissi by a VIN (Victory by Injury), and was looking good in the quarterfinal against China’s Kexin Hong, leading 4-0 at some point.

But the witty Hong, came fighting back, scoring 8points in quick succession and eventually winning the fight 10-8.

Odunayo,you have done well,I salute your courage, sacrifices and your patriotic spirit despite all.

Meanwhile team Nigeria's search for medals continues at the ongoing Olympics.

The Nigeria senior women's basketball team popularly called D'tigress landed in Paris for the 2024 Olympics with less expectations.

They were even ranked very low above other teams at the tournament.

But they turned out to prove themselves not as underdogs but a contender defeating nations like Canada and Australia.

For me,I'm so proud of the D'Tigress,the super head coach Renna Wakama for making history.

Badminton silver medalist He Bingjiao of China carried a Spanish flag badge onto the Olympic podium, paying homage to her semi-final opponent Carolina Marin.

Spain's 31-year-old Carolina Marin suffered a serious injury to her right knee during the semi-final and retired midway through the match.

World champion Tobi Amusan🇳🇬 effortlessly wins her 100mH heat in 12.49s, securing a spot in the semi-finals.

World Record Holder cruises to victory, leaving USA's🇺🇸 Alaysha Johnson in 2nd place with a time of 12.61s, and Jamaica's🇯🇲 Janeek Brown in 3rd with a time of 12.84s.

She was to represent Nigeria at the 2020 Olympics when she was disqualified in Tokyo because of the negligence of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria same as Favour Ofili. In annoyance, she switched allegiance to the USA.
Echikunwoke Nneka Annette has just won the Silver medal for USA at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
