"We needed to generate money, pushed by the regulations. We had two topics in mind, selling Lamine Camara OR Flo Balogun… We made clear that our priority was to keep Lamine at the club. We were open to the transfer for Balogun."

After agreement done and initial paperwork signed, Monaco informed Chelsea they pull out of the deal to sell Camara for €55m previously agreed with medical tests already booked.

This happens as Monaco sold Folarin Balogun to Everton as they blocked Lamine’s exit despite initially approving a deal.

▪️ Monaco then suddenly needed to sell — and Chelsea returned.

▪️ A €55M deal was agreed.
