Out of about 34 🇳🇬 Nigerian athletes named for the DI Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene, five are tipped as title contenders, of whom four have been named on the Bowerman Watch List.

All five rank inside the top 2 nationally heading to Eugene, and four sit among the top 10 all-time performers in NCAA history.

The competition begins tomorrow, with only one defending champion in the group (Samuel Ogazi).

At the Texas Greatest Athlete meet, he shattered his personal best and claimed the men's decathlon title with 8,024 points, a new Nigerian National Record and his first time accruing over 8,000 points

Ezekiel Nathaniel wins the 400m hurdles clocking a Season Best of 47.37s as a season debut at the USATF Lone Star Grand Prix ahead of Trevor Bassitt who clocked same time in a PR.

His first win of the season.

A new season best of 22.15 seconds earned a third-place finish in the 200 metres at the USATF Lone Star Grand Prix.

Favour Ofili finished behind Kayla White (22.07) and event winner Gabby Thomas, who clocked a world-leading 21.70 seconds.

Making her professional debut at the Lone Star Grand Prix in Bryan–College Station, Ella Onojuvwevwo delivered a stunning performance, clocking a new personal best of 49.47 seconds and a Meet Record.

The Nigerian quarter-miler continued her remarkable progression, achieving a personal best time of 49.47 seconds, with Stacey Ann Williams finishing just behind her in 49.80s, and Alexis Holmes placing third in 50.42 seconds.
