TOPIC: PLEASE GOD RATHER THAN MEN
MORNING TEXT: 1 SAM. 15:24-28

MESSAGE
We are in a world thať practically denies Christ for different reasons listed below. Fear of being ridiculed, fear of insecurity, persecution, fear of being denied our daily bread, or house for shelter etc. It is quite ridiculous to see some people initiated into cultism because they want to belong while some ladies have been forcefuly r***d and dehumanized forcing them into living in isolation, fear and intimidation. These are traits which God hates as the society is turning from God to the devil to gain comfort, security and supply. These negative traits come into play as men try to please themselves at the expense of being loyal to God Almighty. This in turn has given rise to jealousy which has a devastating effect upon the culprits by God the creator. For Saul feared the people to retain his position as King as apparently seen in vs. 24 of our text, "And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice". What a false and frivolous plea. Saul chose to please his subjects but the three young men Shedrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Dan. 3:14-26, chose to please God even in the face of a burning furnace. Pleasing men instead of God which is now the in-thing has nothing to do with our position or status as seen in the above examples given. Saul a king was supposed to fear God but he did otherwise while the three young men decided to die rather than please men. What a shame for men to idolize men. Beloved, it is time to stand up and please God rather than please the devil or men. Good day.

PRAYER POINTS: START WITH PRAISE & WORSHIP
1. Thank God for His steadfast love upon your life.
2. Plead for mercy and wisdom to please God and not men.
3. Pray for the spirit of boldness and sound mind to discharge your duties fearlessly.
4. Ask God to equip you with a holy confidence to do His will and what is right always.

EVENING TEXT: PROV. 29:25

MESSAGE
"Fear not them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both the body and soul in hell" - Matt. 10:28. Fear of, or favour from men are the reasons why people become men pleasers. It becomes very sad when men most especially, believers begin to fear the power of the creature -Kings, princes, occult, the power-drunks, the power of the multitudes, etc. Believers should never enslave themselves or live in such fear. Abraham because of the fear of man denied his Wife Sarah and Peter denied Jesus. Let us stick to God in the midst of trials and persecution having confidence in God with diligence. The word here is "It is what God can do for me and not what man can do against me". If God be for us, who can be against us? Our text reads, "The fear of man bringeth a snare; but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe". Good night.
