CLUB STATEMENT
CLARIFICATION REGARDING CLAIMS MADE BY A FORMER BARAU FC Driver YUSUF MUSA DANJAGU
Barau Football Club has come across information circulating on social media concerning a former club driver, particularly claims regarding his alleged disapproval to resume his duties and accusations against the current General Manager, Mr. Domenic Iorfa.
The club considers it necessary to set the record straight and clarify the matter for the public, supporters, players, officials, and other stakeholders.
The claim that the former driver has been prevented from returning to his duties by the current general manager is misleading and does not accurately represent the circumstances surrounding the matter.
The issue involving the former driver dates back to a period before the appointment of the current general manager.
To set the record straight, the former driver was relieved of his duties by the former Chairman of Barau FC, Ibrahim Sh*tu Chanji, following an incident involving the use of Barau FC vehicle as a commercial vehicle which violates the rules of engagement.
The use of a club vehicle for commercial transportation was against the club's rules and regulations. The matter, therefore, predates the tenure of the current general manager.
It is important to point out that Mr. Dominic Iorfa has been with Barau FC not up to one year yet while the said incident happened about two years ago.
Mr Iorfa only met three drivers on ground on assumption of office and the three drivers are presently in Barau FC as staff.
The said driver allegedly brought from Benue state as claimed had been a personal driver to Dominic Iorfa for 40 years ago even when he was an active football player.
Consequently, attributing decisions or events that occurred before his tenure to him is inaccurate.
The current general manager did not make the original decision concerning the former driver's dismissal and should therefore not be portrayed as the person responsible for a decision that predates his administration.
Furthermore, any claim that the former driver had received formal approval to resume his duties is not true and should be disregarded.
Barau FC remains committed to transparency, discipline, accountability, and respect for its established rules and regulations. The club also urges supporters and members of the public not to rely on unverified information circulating on social media, especially when such information may damage the reputation of individuals or the club.
Anyone with genuine concerns regarding the matter is encouraged to approach the appropriate management authority of Barau FC rather than spreading unverified claims online.
Barau Football Club management will continue to protect the integrity, reputation, and proper administration of the club.
Signed
Media and Communication Director, Barau FC
