Bruno Fernandes wins FWA Footballer of the Year award
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has won the Football Writers Association's Footballer of the Year award.
The Portugal international took 45 per cent of the vote, with over 900 journalists taking part. He left behind Arsenal star Declan Rice, who finished 28 points behind, and Man City's Erling Haaland.

Bruno is one step away from a historic season, having registered 19 assists in the Premier League.

He needs one more assist to match the record set by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, and another to surpass it.

Brazil reach agreement with Manchester United to rest Matheus Cunha ahead of World Cup
Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti has been handed a positive update after reports that Matheus Cunha will be carefully managed in the final stages of the season to ensure full fitness for the upcoming World Cup.
Cunha has been dealing with an adductor issue in recent days but still featured for Manchester United, scoring in their 3-2 win over Liverpool.
According to ESPN, the Brazilian Football Confederation has reached an agreement with Manchester United to rest Cunha during the final three Premier League matches of the season in order to avoid aggravating the injury.
The decision is described as a precautionary measure, with the aim of ensuring the player is fully fit for the World Cup, which begins in just over a month.
