Run to Win

Have you ever trained hard to compete in something you really wanted to win? You probably have a goal when working hard to win: status, fame, validation of your hard work, a sense of accomplishment, even a trophy or medal. There’s a prize at the end. The harder the road, the bigger the prize may feel.

In 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, Paul says, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”

Paul had his eyes fixed on the end goal: an eternity with Jesus and an eternal crown of reward for the life he lived on earth!

Have you ever started in on a new challenge, only to bail quickly once things became difficult? Think about that time and ask yourself, did you have a clear picture of what waited for you at the finish line? How does knowing an eternal reward waits for you at the finish line of this life encourage you to give this race everything you’ve got?

It’s incredible to witness the intense training athletes endure and the sacrifices they make when their aim is to win. How much more so can the eternal value of the race we run as believers motivate us? When it feels like living a life of faith is too hard, ask yourself, “What’s the prize?” Like Paul, let it fuel you to RUN.

Leadership is not talking the lead but taking the lead. Leadership is about occupying position but accomplishing fit. The real worth of a leader is in the value he adds. Leadership is tied to tasks accomplishment. Leadership is product of efficient management of self, time, task and resources.

Integrity: True leaders are always very honest with themselves.
Personal Effectiveness: Your leadership ability will always put a limit on the level of your personal success.
Group Effectiveness: The quality of a group or organization cannot be better be better than individual members.
Foresight: You can't succeed beyond your ability to see the future.
Courage: Your ability to make decision and act boldly determines your level of success in leadership. Leadership is mostly about decisions.
Connections: Leaders are sensitive to the needs and feelings of their followers.

Leadership does not simply mean am ahead of somebody. Leadership is the ability achieve goals through the cooperation of others. Everything rises and falls on leadership. All human beings are potential leaders, leaders are made not born. To succeed in leadership, there are laws to obey. Remember no one can take you where he has never been!

It's Competence, Character and Skill that makes a Leader.

I am Existing to serve, and I'm committed to serve humanity and God with my leadership skill. It's not enough for a leader to know or have knowledge but acting on what he knows is the key.

Leadership Reproduction is the greatest level of leadership, while Positional leadership is the lowest level of leadership. The Servant leader is the ultimate leader.

Our focus is not on leaders but leadership. Because leadership focuses on the result or action of the individual. Solving cultural problems requires change and concept of leadership. The essence of leadership is service and not about the leader itself. The leader is too small to be the purpose of leadership or position. Service is meeting needs,doing work, and helping others. The purpose of service is for others. Turning the focus from self to others, is one of the greatest transformation. The Servant leader sees service as his calling.
