Greenwood's business sees earnings rise to £1million during police investigation

Mason Greenwood saw the fortune in a business rocket to £1million after he was arrested and then charged with r**e.

The Manchester United and England striker saw earnings in his company rise by £340,000 while he was the subject of the police probe which was dropped earlier this year.

Accounts for his company TSM Sports Limited covering the April 1, 2021 to September 30 2022 reveal his bank balance went up to £1,036,708.

He owed £114,746 to creditors, which left the business with £963,578 up from £621,956 the previous year.

The company gives no indication of the source of the income. Its function is described as 'Other service activities not elsewhere classified'.

Greenwood is understood to have kept his £75,000 a week salary from Manchester United while he awaited the outcome of the investigation.

Greenwood was pictured for the first time this week returning to training on his own with a personal coach.

He was put through his paces on a public pitch in what was believed to be his first training session since his arrest in January last year.

Greenwood, 21, was arrested and later charged with attempted r**e after an investigation was launched.

He denied the charges and was due to go on trial in November this year until the CPS dropped the case in February this year.

He had been charged with charged with attempted r**e, assault and 'repeatedly engaging' in coercive and controlling behaviour.

He was accused of attempting to r**e the complainant in October 2021 – a charge he denied – and of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in December that year.

In a statement at the time, Greenwood said: 'I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support. There will be no further comment at this time.'

Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has fueled talk he is joining Inter Miami's star-studded overhaul by sharing a vide of him at the team's practice facilites.

Lingard is currently a free agent after being released by Nottingham Forest at the end of the Premier League season. The 30-year-old has been considering what his next career move will be.

He recently hinted he'd be open to going to the Saudi league but his recent Instagram video in Miami now hints he could soon be in the same team as Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.

In the short video, Lingard is seen going through a shooting drill with signs clearly visibly in the background saying that he is at Miami's DRV PNK stadium - soon to be Messi's new home.

It comes amid reports in Spain that Sergio Ramos could also be about to join Miami, alongside the former Barcelona and Spain left-back Jordi Alba.

'I'm considering all options,' Lingard told Sky Sports recently. 'I've never ruled out any team or club out, so for me it's just picking the right team and it's got to be right for me.

'I just want to play football at the end of the day and that's all I want to do.'

When asked what he's looking for in his next move, whether that's the right coach, group of players or the project, Lingard said: 'Obviously the project has got to be well suited for me, the team's got to be moving in the right direction but just regular game-time – I'm still hungry.

'Saudi Arabia are doing big things, and in the next couple of years or so, it will be one of the hotspots to go to.

'I'm not really surprised that the big names are moving out there. Like I say, they're doing big things and it's something I would consider as well – I've not ruled that out either.

'It's got to be right for me at the end of the day. I've got to go on my gut feeling but I'm still hungry and striving for success.'

Man City 'make formal offer of £80m plus £10m in add-ons for Rice'

Manchester City have made a formal offer of £80million plus £10million in add-ons for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

As reported by The Athletic, City are looking to beat Arsenal to the signing of Rice, with the Gunners having had a second bid of £75million plus £15million in add-ons rejected last week.

Arsenal are set to continue their pursuit of Rice, who is their main midfield target.

However the American outlet claim that they are optimistic that a deal can be done for Mbappe this summer, in spite of his public protestations that he wants to see out his contract with PSG this coming season.

Yet with Real Madrid in need of a forward, and PSG keen to avoid losing Mbappe for free, the ingredients are definitely there for a move. Even so, ESPN do go on to say no significant progress has been made since it was revealed that Mbappe would not be extending his PSG deal beyond next summer.

Lionel Messi is planning to take a temporary break from his international career as he settles into life in the United States, according to a new report.

Messi is closing in on a move to MLS' Inter Miami, with the club hoping for a July 21 debut for him in the Leagues Cup vs. Mexican outfit Cruz Azul.

And according to the Mirror, Messi is 'believed to have told' Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni that he'd like a year off from his Argentina duties as he and his family adjust to their new surroundings.

According to the report, Scaloni was 'hit hard' by the news from his star player, and such an agreement would need to be approved by the Argentinian football federation.

Nonetheless, the request is expected to be granted.

Messi, who turned 36 years old on Saturday, led Argentina to a World Cup triumph in Qatar as La Albiceleste topped France on penalties in the final.

Zinedine Zidane: Jude Bellingham is ready for Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is confident Jude Bellingham will hit the ground running this season.



England star Bellingham completed a move to the Spanish capital after months of negotiations with former side Borussia Dortmund.

Bellingham rejected a return to England, with the 19-year-old insisting the challenge of remaining outside his comfort zone was a key factor in switching to Spain.

Zidane was asked about his opinion on Bellingham’s arrival in Madrid and his expectation of the teenager’s first year at the club.



“He’s an important player, a player with a great future and ready to play for Real Madrid”, as per reports from Mundo Deportivo.

“I was with him watching the Champions League final in Paris against Liverpool.”

Zidane was also asked about his plan to return to management in 2023 after two years out of the game following his departure from Madrid in 2021.

Nicolas Jackson has reportedly completed his Chelsea medical ahead of the Villarreal forward completing his £30million move.



The 21-year-old scored 13 goals last season in a breakthrough campaign at Spanish side Villarreal.

He scored nine goals in his last eight games, as the Yellow Submarine finished fifth in the La Liga table.

According to the Athletic, the Senegalese forward has now completed his medical as the moves edges closer to completion.
