Lagos State Sports Commission

The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende , alongside the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, received the heroic Dazzle Football Club of Lagos at the Commission’s Office in Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The team won Gold Medal in the U-12 and a Silver Medal in the U- 14 category at the prestigious Dana Cup in Denmark. Additionally, Toheeb Ojerinde of the U-14 team emerged as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.

Congratulating the players and technical crew, Hon. Lekan Fatodu commended their exceptional exploit on the international stage, noting that the entire nation takes immense pride in their achievements.

Welcoming the champions, Hon. Fatodu stated ‘The ecosystem, actually champion by the President is such that when you do well, a grateful state and nation receive you, this is the manifestation of that word this morning. Without statistical information, your group is just a drop in the ocean when we talk of over 22 million population in Lagos and 200 million in Nigeria. Imagine when the drop creates a significant ripple. That is what you have done and that ripple is what is going inspire other people.’

Hon. Fatodu further reaffirmed that the Commission remains committed to nurturing talent, empowering dreams, and inspiring future champions.
