Congratulations to Mr. Raji Bomodeoku | Clarification on Unauthorized Delegation | Appreciation to West Africa & Liberia

On behalf of the Scout Association of Nigeria (TSAN), I extend our warmest congratulations to Mr. Raji Bomodeoku on his well-deserved re-appointment. Your resilience, courage, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of Scouting continue to inspire confidence across the West African sub-region. We are proud of your leadership and your continued service to the movement.

We wish to formally clarify that the delegation which opposed Mr. Raji Bomodeoku does not represent the legitimate leadership or membership of the Scout Association of Nigeria. That group is associated with a previously suspended leadership and does not reflect the recognized structure, authority, or values of our National Scout Organization. We respectfully urge that any statements or positions presented by that group be disregarded, as they are not authorized representatives of Nigerian Scouting.

The Scout Association of Nigeria has, over many years, maintained strong and mutually respectful relationships with fellow National Scout Organizations across West Africa. These relationships are built on trust, shared values, and a shared commitment to youth development. We deeply appreciate the continued support and confidence shown by the West Africa Scout Forum during this period.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia, as well as the Liberia Scout Association, for their recognition, support, and commitment to the advancement of Scouting within the region. Your acknowledgment of contributions to the zone and your continued partnership reflect the true spirit of brotherhood and unity that Scouting represents.

Please be assured that we are actively engaging with the appropriate government authorities and institutional frameworks to address the current situation and to ensure that integrity, accountability, and unity are fully restored within Nigerian Scouting. We are confident that future regional and international engagements will reflect a united and properly constituted Nigerian delegation.

Scouting was established by act of parliament under Nigerian law, we remain guided by and fully compliant with the legal framework of our country.

Zack Ekanola from Oyo was duly suspended from Scouting on 15 October 2024, for various offense as communicated in the official letter referenced below. As such, he is not recognized in any capacity within the Movement, despite his continued claims to the contrary.

On 10 April 2026, he was apprehended by law enforcement authorities in connection with the vandalization of Scout property, alongside individuals reported to be in his company. Following the incident, he has been taken into police custody, where he remains pending further investigation.

Preliminary reports indicate that the actions in question may constitute several serious offenses, including but not limited to:
• Criminal Trespass (unauthorized entry onto private property)
• Breaking and Entering / Burglary
• Malicious Damage / Vandalism of Property
• Destruction of Property
• Conspiracy
• Theft / Attempted Theft
• Unlawful Assembly
• Disturbance of Public Peace
• Possession of Burglary Tools
• Criminal Mischief
• Intent to Commit a Felony
• Obstruction

At the police station today, he began pleading for an amicable resolution, claiming he had been misled.

The Association reiterates its unwavering commitment to upholding discipline, the rule of law, and the protection of all Scout properties and values. Appropriate legal and institutional actions will be pursued to their full extent in line with established laws and regulations.
