Come October 2014, LSM will fully sponsor qualified Nigerian graduates to Sri Lanka to train as Lapidarists! That word again! Let me explain: As you already saw from NIPC’s website, Nigeria has the best grade gemstones including sapphire, ruby, aquamarine, emerald, tourmaline, topaz, garnet, amethyst; zircon, and fluorspar.

But here’s the problem: Nigeria mostly sells the gemstones raw! The raw gemstones are sold in grams but polished gemstones are sold in carats! And the carat is on a completely different money orbit from meagre gram. When you sell raw, uncut, unpolished gemstones, you lose 500% of your money! A gram of polished gemstone sells 500% more that its equivalent of raw gemstone!

That’s where you - our respected Nigerian lapidarist - comes in! As a lapidarist, you are trained in the fine art of cutting and polishing raw gemstones. And are you ready for the BREAKING NEWS? Finding a lapidary in Nigeria is like finding fresh fish in the bush! There’s none! That’s why we have partnered with veteran lapidarists in Sri Lanka and India to train a crop of bright Nigerians in this highly lucrative gemstone business! Laurel School of Mines would pay the tuition, and fully sponsor the flight and full boarding in Sri Lanka.

STEP 1: Attend the subsidized Introduction to Mining and Mineral Processing Course

STEP 2: Attend the Investment Opportunities in Mining Workshop

STEP 3: Attend the selection test to be held at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island. Successful candidates to be notified and awarded the scholarship that same day.
