Official Address from the President of Chess Players Association of Nigeria – CPAN.

A new chapter is unfolding in the story of Nigerian chess.

With the recent inauguration of a committed leadership team at the Chess Players Association of Nigeria (CPAN), we are charting a bold course for the future of the game—one rooted in vision, structure, and inclusion.

Our roadmap is rich and intentional: from grassroots development and youth engagement to high-profile online and offline tournaments, we are laying the foundation for sustainable chess excellence across Nigeria. Over the next 6 to 12 months, we are implementing purposeful programs that prioritize what truly matters—access, visibility, and opportunity for every chess player.

As we prepare to celebrate International Chess Day on 20th July 2025, we invite the entire global chess family to stand with us.

Let’s create Nigeria’s largest online chess tournament, packed with prizes and energy. Let’s bring chess into public spaces—malls, schools, parks—through eye-catching cage matches and mini events. Let’s own the digital conversation—from trending hashtags to viral content—especially on X (formerly Twitter). Let’s make this day unforgettable.

And to our esteemed sponsors and partners, this is your moment to be part of something truly transformational. Support CPAN. Support Nigerian chess. Be part of the legacy we’re building—a future of champions, community, and connection through the 64 squares.
The new dawn is here. Together, let’s make it remarkable.
With passion and purpose.
