The Billionaire Champion of Africapitalism and African Entrepreneurship!
Born on March 22, 1963, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu rose from humble beginnings to become one of Africa’s most influential business leaders and a driving force for economic transformation across the continent.

After stepping down as UBA’s CEO, Elumelu founded Heirs Holdings, a diversified investment company with interests in banking, energy, real estate, power, and hospitality, and also chairs Transcorp Plc, one of Nigeria’s leading conglomerates.
Beyond business, Tony Elumelu is the founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) — a philanthropic organization empowering over 15,000 African entrepreneurs with funding, mentorship, and business training through his visionary philosophy of Africapitalism — the belief that the private sector is key to Africa’s transformation.
