So, what can you do? Here are two main ways to recover your money.

1. Bank-Led Recovery:- Report the error to your bank immediately. The bank will:
- Trace the recipient’s account
- Place a restriction (if the money is still there)
- Contact the recipient and request their consent to reverse the transfer
- If the recipient agrees, the bank will reverse the funds—no need to go to court!

2. Court Order:- If the recipient refuses to return the money or has already spent it, you may need to go to court. You can file an action (usually for restitution or recovery of money had and received) and obtain a court order compelling the recipient (and sometimes the bank) to return your money.
