There are matches, and then there are matches that split a dressing room down the middle. This is one of them.

Once a month, Rhythm Allstars FC parks its usual business — the drills, the friendlies, the quiet Saturday sessions — and turns on itself. Two camps.

One badge. Ninety minutes to settle who really runs the show at RAFC. This time, it's Desperados vs Cheetah, and both sides have made it very clear: this is not a training exercise. This is personal.

The Outlaws
Desperados didn't pick their name for style points. This is a team built on nerve — the kind of side that would rather stand its ground in the 89th minute than play it safe. Watch them in training and the pattern is obvious: bodies first, ball second, apologies never. They defend like they're guarding something that belongs to them, and going forward they don't wait for the perfect opening — they make one. If Cheetah want space to work with, Desperados' whole gameplan is built around making sure that space doesn't exist.

What a game!

Rhythm FC secured a well-deserved 4–2 victory over United Allstars of Port Harcourt in a match that had everything — goals, tactical brilliance, individual magic, youthful energy, unnecessary arguments, dramatic comebacks, and, of course… football.

But before anybody starts saying this was just another football match, let the official record show:

United Allstars started brightly and drew first blood after a well-delivered cross found its way into the danger area and was converted.

For a brief moment, Rhythm FC looked like they had been given a completely different formation — possibly 2–6–1. 😂

I looked at the players.
I looked at the bench.
I looked at the opposition.

Then I looked at myself and said:

“Chairman, abeg, do something.” 😂

And the tactical reset began.

MEIBAKA pressed like a man who had just remembered his rent was due and forced an error from the goalkeeper.

He simply said:

“Thank you very much.”

Game restored.

Chairman smiling restored. 😎

I instructed MEIBAKA to:

👉 “Find space, confuse defenders and cause emotional instability.”

He obeyed.

He picked up the ball, looked up and delivered a beautiful pass to TARI, who chipped the goalkeeper with the composure of someone testing whether soup was hot enough. 🍲😂

At this point, I adjusted my jacket and nodded.

No celebration.
Just tactical satisfaction.

Because, obviously…

I had seen it before it happened. 😎😂

GODSWILL then executed what I can only describe as “tactical positioning excellence.”

Translation:

He stood where I told him to stand. 😂

The ball came.
The finish came.
The goal came.

United Allstars were beginning to ask serious philosophical questions:

* “Why did we come here?”
* “Who is this Chairman?”

Now, this is the part I want entered into the official club archives. 📚😂

United Allstars introduced younger, faster players.

Suddenly, the game changed.

Their pace started causing problems.

They were running everywhere.

Left.
Right.
Centre.
Everywhere except the dressing room. 😂🏃🏾‍♂️

They pulled one back.

3–2.

And suddenly, the atmosphere changed.

You could smell a potential 3–3 from the touchline.

Some spectators started calculating.
Some players started panicking.
Some people started shouting:

“Chairman! Chairman! Do something!” 😂

But the Chairman was already thinking.

This was no longer a football match.

This was now a tactical emergency. 🚨😂

I looked at the game and identified the problem:

PACE.

United Allstars had introduced fresh young legs and were beginning to overwhelm us with energy.

So I made the adjustment.

🔄 TACTICAL CHANGE:

➡️ JIMMY introduced into midfield
➡️ TARI moved to fullback

Now, some people probably looked at the Chairman like:

“Is this man serious?” 😂

Yes.

Very serious.

This was not madness.
This was controlled madness. 😎

Jimmy gave us greater control and stability in midfield, while moving Tari to fullback gave us the legs and discipline required to neutralize the pace coming from the younger United Allstars players.

Suddenly, their running had nowhere to go.

The spaces disappeared.
The midfield became ours again.

The young legs were still running…

but now they were running into a tactical wall. 😂🧱

And Tari?

From attacking hero to fullback.

One minute he’s chipping goalkeepers.
Next minute he’s being asked to chase young men down the wing.

Versatility. 😂

That adjustment changed the game.

We regained control.
We slowed the match down.
We reduced the impact of their pace.
We protected the 3–2 scoreline.

And most importantly…

WE STOPPED 3–3 FROM HAPPENING. 😂😂

That tactical change was the difference between:

“Good game, we drew 3–3.”

and

“Chairman, congratulations, you won 4–2.” 😎🏆

Once control was restored, we went back to business.

I told MEIBAKA:
