Rivers United Fight Back to Defeat Wikki Tourists in Bauchi

Rivers United produced a spirited performance to secure a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Wikki Tourists in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 37 clash at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

The home side struck first in the 21st minute through Mairiga J. Rivers United responded well, and in the 35th minute, Handsome Surveyor finished calmly to level the score.

Wikki Tourists regained the lead shortly after the restart when Imamu B. found the net in the 47th minute. Unfazed, Rivers United continued to press forward. Their persistence paid off in the 59th minute as Chijioke Mbaoma equalized with a composed finish.

The Pride of Rivers completed their comeback in the 83rd minute. Taofeek Otaniyi scored the decisive goal to seal all three points for Finidi George’s side in Bauchi.

What This Means
With this win, Rivers United have qualified to represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League. We also stay within one point of league leaders Rangers International heading into the final matchday of the season.
